PvP Rank 10-14

so, technically a server could rotate people such that the number of hours need would be far lower.

And the battlegrounds are cross realm soooo

In regular vanilla I got to rank 11 on my rogue through a mix of solo and premades. On the private servers, which were massive, many, many people got to rank 14 solo. In all my experience… I would say you can absolutely get to 12 solo and by the time you get to rank 11 or 12 your server premades will likely spot you and approach you about teaming up while wondering what your stopping point is. 1 through 8 is easy. 8 to 10 goes fine as long as PVP is WHAT YOU DO while not raiding. 10 - 12 is going to be a long, dedicated month. 12 to 14 means you are unemployed.

Like athletes who work out twice a day, you got to put in the time - in this case and impossible time for Rank 14.

I think I missed rank 12 by sleeping in for an extra hour.

I solo’d Rank 10 in vanilla as a Warrior (this warrior, in fact). It wasn’t too bad. But I stopped at rank 10 because to keep going would have been a stretch for me.

Soooo what?

Rank is a competition with others on your server. If BG queues pop fast for you, they also pop fast for your competition.

Yes.

The honor grind is more about how much you play.

Absolutely. My original guild master got rank 13 simply by AFKing all day long in AV. If he had sacrificed some sleep or started sooner, he probably would have got rank 14.

If you want rank 10 or 11, you will need to not have a job and play 8 hours a day (56 hours a week). If you want rank 14, you will need to account share.

In my server I got rank 10 by PvP’ing only 2-3 hours a day for a few weeks. If I hit it 8 hours a day I would have hit rank 12 or 13 with ease.

Rank 14 will probably require account sharing unless you don’t have a job or any other obligations demanding your time.

Is rank 10 gear enough to get you in raids?

Main thing is you need to get involved with people on your server and make sure you are following the CP caps. This will be taken quite seriously in Classic, and you want to be on the good side of these folks.

I think raiding gear will be easier to acquire than rank 11+ gear. I mean if people are doing MC in greens then why not?

true guess ill have a mix

You need to be in a premade from R12 onwards and you pretty much have to win 90% plus of your bgs. Also at that Rank you need approx 750000 honor a week to stay in the game. 40 hours a week plus.

Yeh rank 10 is the sweet spot to leave the pvp grind and switch to raid.

If you pvp enough to reach rank 10 solo, you will probably meet some hardcore pvp grinding groups (people going for HWL etc.) As a druid in vanilla, I helped many a HWL reach their rank, and got to rank 12 for my efforts. The last rank was brutal though, so I can’t imagine what 13 and 14 are like.

In the end, I consistently would get invited to groups, but my guild was a PVE guild. So it is possible to go at it ā€œsoloā€, just makes some friends along the way. If you never intend to join a group, I think the grind would just be miserable solo-queuing.

R13 warrior signing in

How I got to RR 11 solo.
