PVP problem

LOL. Just… Lmao even. Ruining WoW at the altar of WoW PvP is a bad strategy. And something being not fun (not enjoying it) is irredeemable. Time is better spent making the game more rich in depth and content, not eternally sitting around the mill complaining about the most B-tier spec in a deathmatch mini-game.

YOU don’t enjoy it, that’s your opinion, it’s irredeemable to YOU… arena is content and many people enjoy it. So alas a great addition.

Blizzard has the data to back your claim, but I bet more people have quit since the inception of arena than stayed because of it. But keep your bad takes and unsubstantiated opinions.

It’s a bad take to YOU, a person who more than likely wasn’t very good and got in his feelings and thinks arena is bad…

You need to get out of your feelings, we can disagree without you acting like someone’s take is bad because you don’t like it.

oooo, this interests me more than the PvP bickering. I’ll get to that in a moment. What’s the Mexican popcorn? Spicy? or did I just take bait on a border joke?

I wish they would do something to help you guys. I’ll try to think of an idea and I’ll edit it in but I’m sure most things have been tried. I even remember when you guys came to the BG forum offering to help people, maybe if they made it so it didn’t tank your ratings we might see a little more mentoring and less reluctance to start.

I’m kinda curious what classes you mean… Because… I’ve not found anything THIS much of an issue, I mean sure some classes seem a bit overtuned (demon hunters and warriors) And some classes I feel I have to massivly adjust my tactics to deal with (rogues and monks) But for the most part, I can win against any class and lose against any class depending on how well me and the other player handle eachother.

Again, blance sure isn’t perfect, but it’s far from ‘broken’ or unplayable.

I remember doing pre-made AV’s with Clan Battlehammer on ED back in Legion and BFA.

Was good times.

There’s literally nothing they can do. People will still be mad their class isn’t DH, swap to DH, end up hating the game (either through skill plateau or class homogenization), and outright quit because WoW PvP mini-game isn’t sufficient to justify a subscription. PvP griping is literally a glorified pity party.

Many other PvP games (that’s right–where the entire game is centered around player versus player mechanics) are free to play. A quick snapshot of War Mode participation should give an idea of who actually enjoys PvP versus who is paying to play an adventure, dungeon crawl, raiding game. Depth and content match the genre, though it’s weird to think that the asymmetric RPG is ever going to be “fair”.

People like him can’t be helped. He’s in a topic about PVP and talking trash about PVP while offering nothing thought provoking or changes he’d like to see made. No, he rather talk about other content aka PVE… he’s a pointless person to speak to.

I personally don’t believe there is major issues outside the top 3 or so DPS being a tad too powerful, a numbers nerf would fix that. Rating comes and goes, if you’re too worried about that then you’ll never really learn to improve.

This my friend is a PVP situation that causes controversy. The situation you have described are on PVP battlegrounds. PVP battlegrounds is an open sandbox. Sometimes teams work out, sometimes not. Many players who PVP have a different way of doing it versus you.

If you are wanting conformity and players to act as a cohesive unit, that may be far fetched unless you are a guild/group you are running the BG with. In simple terms PVP is a free for all for many people. There are not exacts laws to conduct PVP. There are guidelines that may help achieve a win but in the end, it’s all a game. Enjoy

People like me, we’re just looking for a good experience and arena is so hectic; there’s definitely a barrier to entry for most players to even start. I don’t want to be carried through rank either, I guess I understand people paying for that it just seems hollow to me. I tried arena in MoP, could have chosen a better partner but we were friends irl. He used the arrow keys to move, clicked on spells, he was really bothered by the experience. I offered several times to help set up keybinds and macros for him, he ended up quitting and never returned.

If they could fix that early experience I think more people would play arena. My poor partner, couldn’t kill the healers. I’d interrupt and purge for him but I was busy riptide, wolfie, run, run, repeating.

Seems to be the direction they’re taking things but it leaves the more casual player base behind which I believe is the topic. They’ve left a loop hole open for years and people are treating it like a feature now. If it supports the most players or the health of the game it’s an acceptable trade to lose a few scrub dinosaurs like myself who can’t adapt, I guess the 1st part is the question. I don’t have those answers, Blizzard might and they seem to be moving away from players like me so maybe that is just a sign it’s time for people to move on. A lot of people from when I left didn’t return to give it a chance. Wish it was better, I thought it would be.

Y’all were nutty, but fun.

You have to look at the recipe. It involves buttered popcorn with some Mayo and other spices.

That’s a big reason I felt WPvP offered a good path forward. But the devs want to push anything PvP related into the ranking structure and that’s an area that many many people aren’t willing to pay to experience.

That’s also why the Vanilla PvP experience left things feeling in reach, even when they probably weren’t. Watching Madseason get Grand Marshal was more rewarding than watching the 1000th degenerate arena match that’s boring as hell and people just fall over and quit within a 3s window.

Rotating matches around 2 minute cooldowns. Wow. So much fun… /s

Now?

Lol… try 18 years worth!

There are casual forms of PVP, rated battlegrounds are usually pretty casual until you get really high up… but PVP has always been about competition and proving you are the better player, unlike world pvp which was rarely about competition or skill.

PVP isn’t for everyone though… good luck with whatever you decide on.

You and me and thousands of others have been trying to get this to happen for years. I dont think it is ever going to change at this point.
