I’m currently doing arena and the games last 10 minutes, healers are unkillable, it’s always the same comps on the other side, and there’s just no fun. I feel like my damage outside of burst is just ridiculous, and I don’t remember original MoP being like this. What did they do? I honestly feel like quitting the game and just playing something else. PvP in Cataclysm was a thousand times better than this — and I’m not even a big fan of Cata… That should tell you how bad PvP is right now. I feel like I wasted my time leveling and gearing my character.
Honestly, the launch of MoP Classic so far has been a disaster. I think a lot of people already quit or will probably quit after experiencing arena.
Leveling takes way too long. Back in original MoP, leveling speed was nerfed halfway through the expansion by 50%. Why didn’t they keep that change?
Constant lag
As for PvP: if you’re not playing Human, you’re already at a big disadvantage. I mean, yeah, that was the case back in the day too, but if they really wanted to balance PvP, they should’ve done something about that. All the non-Human racials for PvP are just terrible.
The resilience boost just drags games out and makes healers invincible. It’s awful. MoP PvP used to be great because games were close and there was constant pressure. Now there’s nothing — it’s empty and just boring.
Anyway, I don’t think I’m the only one who feels this way. I really feel like I wasted two weeks of my life leveling and gearing for PvP just to experience this. I’m so angry and disappointed…
My character is geared to the T, and I still hit like a wet noddle. The damp fest is a real thing, but classes that are able to stun constantly and put out consistent damage seem to be the real king here… While the burst specs seem to have our damage neutered, and its not fun when I sit there and line up my proc burst that does not work and now I have to deal with a pissed off Warrior or Monk that I don’t have any chance of getting away from.
And just to add I understand completely your point on the leveling… Overall this expansion just feels terrible and I have a feeling the numbers of people logging in will start to reflect that week by week.
It’s like 1/10th of my time spent on a session is sort of enjoyable. I’m only sticking around because I regretfully bought the three month subscription…
People say Blizz isn’t doing anything or whatever you guys are fully aware they’ve adjusted resil and damp values multiple times in pvp? For mop specifically on beta and ahead of season start.
This is the tuning they’ve determined that is good at full gear. Just feels awful now but why waste time tuning honor blues.
Note it’s still damp at max but the classic dec is actively listening to people like minpojke on Twitter all day and iterating over and over the values
Blame minpojke and other R1s for dictating the pace. They are the ones blasting the devs all day with tweets.
Pvp in cata was actually pretty damn good. I never liked MoP , but i know many people love the slow, dampening playstyle and the Rdruid meta. Maybe mop pvp just isnt for you and thats OK. I tend to agree with you.
That and the meta of MoP figured out… and people doing things differently… if you are comparing to OG mop… there was a lot of brain dead IDK what im doing people.
Honestly it’s so disappointing. Feel the same way. It’s literally the most boring pvp I’ve ever done in any game. Takes like 5 mins to kill one person. The level of Resilience is a joke.
I’m just amazed at how good prepatch was until they added in the base resilience or whatever and now how terrible everything feels. Like we had the rug pulled out from under us as usual from the 3rd reich in charge.
You know they adjusted the tuning numbers right? Burst classes doing less damage, healers healing more, base resil through the roof… right?
Because if you do know that… then at what point of them tuning the numbers does your argument stop making sense? They could buff resil to 100% and you just saying “use your toolkit”. This has nothing to do with the toolkit. People are using it properly and it’s taking dampening or mana bars to end nearly all matches of equal skill.
This is like a reverse of that whole “you can counter the spell so it’s not overpowered”… like if a Boomkin had a 3 second cast that did 400k damage to each enemy player, it’s fine because you have a tool against it.
Your argument has zero nuance or relevance to what’s being changed from original MoP.
It made my friend and I really appreciate classic vanilla.
We leveled to 90, geared out in full blue honor gear just to quit.
It’s funny, during prepatch my friend absolutely hated how high the time to kill was. Then they turned the scaling off and he was like “finally. this feels how i expected it to feel like” then fast forward to patch drop they turn that base resilience up and we’re both already unsubbed lmao.
I’m watching to see if they fix it but if my sub runs out before then I guess it’s GG. I wish blizz would just give us MoP without sticking their fingers into the cookie jar.
Wow I can’t believe people aren’t enjoying MOP pvp. It’s been an absolute blast so far. I think the burst seems insane but I also played with ele/warr in 3s and in 2s I’m playing mage/MW monk and we’re farming. The only comps that took us to deeper damp in 3s was L S Druid and that’s what they’re known for
