There are enough people decked out from last season, PvE or otherwise, that “Low CR/YOLO” can basically imply that you have 220 ilvl+ in addition to low or no rating. If you aren’t being accepted, it’s due to the other dps queueing just having better gear or achieves or IO (literally anything the group leader can take). The achievement linking request is similar to a job app requiring you have X experience, usually it’s just posted to filter out those with nothing to show. If you write “1500 xp” they probably won’t even check unless your gear is noticeably worse, they just want some faint glimmer of hope out of the people they invite.
It should also be said that the problems in PvP are similar to the problems in PvE, and the problems of SL PvP/PvE are not dissimilar to any previous iteration of the game, even Classic; people don’t want to waste much time on PuGs, so they try to foolproof their groups as much as possible, which usually means taking the most overqualified people you can find.

lmao
i did M0 spires run on my 204 hunter with a 178 Survival hunter and 171 Guardian druid in the group, it was a joke. The tank was never in danger despite having trash gear,

I’m aware of that. I was only saying what I said to outline how ridiculous it was for that rogue to claim that others could do it in a day.
Although why the group lead isn’t putting an iLvl requirement in the group recruiting message I don’t know if that’s really the issue.
I did get YOLO group going today - literally just said, “1/3/6 <-----Read number” on the outside and “No real requirements but don’t come in fresh 60 gear” on the inside. Put up my Discord channel and between 40 and 60% of them joined (varied as folks came and went). Won 4 of 5 (so it’s not me, although this thread has mercifully free of blame).
They’re still using my Discord channel. I need a shower and some lunch (yeah, I know, it’s 7:40 pm my time right now) and I’ll be back in.
Wrong. It’s reality. You can check my rating on my profile.
OP doesn’t want to invest effort. I think it’s pretty obvious at this point and if it isn’t yet apparent, it probably will become so the longer this thread goes on.
Oops I just hit 1700 by accident. My bad. #Winning. Road to 1800 and then 2100 here I come.

Keep in mind too, that there is only going to be room for 1 hunter in a group (unless they’re viewed like balance druids now). This makes it harder to get into the groups for most classes. Haven’t run any rated PvP yet this season but likely to check it out this weekend and see what it’s like now (though I think I have a pretty good idea already).
Edit to add I’ve seen people with 1600+ rating in less than 20 rated BG’s, so it’s possible but usually needs a regular group and won’t be done in YOLO groups.

Won 4 of 5 with two BM and one Survival hunter, a Warlock, an Arms Warrior, another melee (forget which), two priest healers, a druid healer, and a DH tank.
The meta may say otherwise, but we’re hell on wheels with flag carry maps.
Our flag carry team was myself, the Survival Hunter, one of the Priest healers and the Tank.
Quick victories in both of our Twin Peaks games.
We sat flags in Eye of the Storm - won one, lost one.
I know there are lots of folks who will limit BM Hunters because they don’t want that much “ranged” but in reality, most of our damage comes from our pets, which are melee (for me anyway).
I’ve no problem allowing a BM Hunter into an RBG or a Survival Hunter. I rarely bring in Marksman (other ranged are more mobile and the targeted kill capability of them just isn’t that useful there).
I rarely bring in rogues at this level. They all THINK they can Sap/Cap but at this level all they are is a loss of a player in the team fights. As a group I find them almost constitutionally unable to follow directions or play as part of a team.
That might change as we go up in rating, but at this level, rogues are a net loss to the team.
Oh yes, I agree. I was able to yolo no voice to higher ratings in rbgs in previous expansions than in SL, I can say that with certainty.
I think they mean achievements from previous seasons. Even prev expansions are fine. I got into 16-700 groups from linking a previous expansion Stone Guard i got
You can only put an ilvl req lower than your own, if they have a low ilvl req but only invite high ilvl, it’s because they’re trash geared and hoping to be carried, that’s how almost every yolo RBG group is.
He’s a Rogue. Every group wants one. You’ll probably see better invite chances after Tuesday when pretty much every major BM ability gets a 15% DMG increase, provided there aren’t better geared/XP Hunters, Boomkins, etc. applying.
you’re playing a hunter, of which most groups will only need 1 if they bring it at all. you’re gonna need to make your own groups until you get your rating up and become more desirable. this isn’t people being jerks, its a numbers game and there are a million hunters out there, many of whom have better gear and more achievements than you.
I disagree, Blizzard has his share on it when their design are so punitive to the playerbase. I mean, M+ is made to create pressure over the players and manly punish the key’s owner when its not made in time. So people dont want to spend their time redoing the same thing if a random guy doesnt know mecs.

Thats why i like the CM from MOP/WOD, it had an ivl reduction and if u couldnt make it in time u should just reset the run, its frustrating? Yeah it is, but not as punitive as m+
Helps to have that trinket that I just obtained too. I GOTZ DAT unshackled gladiator’s malediction junk. I’m 1700 and pushing to 2100. Today i’ll be 1800 minimum in 1 small sitting. 2 more sittings for 2100.
Forget M+ … go into random BG’s where no one has anything to lose and see how people behave. The average age of the WoW crowd is supposed to be mid 30’s. And it’s all your mother this , your mother that, gay insults etc once things go sideways and sometimes even when winning

I would absolutely love to invest the effort.
I don’t consider 5 hours (combined over 2 days) of simply not being able to get into a group or get a 10 players (1/3/6) all at one time in a group “effort” at all.
Oddly after that I had no problem. For some reason the taps opened and players started popping up left and right. Ran for quite a while last night in two different session.
Didn’t make it to 1500 in one sitting, but got just short of 1000.
I’m back in today.
I think that I managed to get the PVP mount last season (40 or so wins over 1000 CR) and yet never hit 1600 (despite getting close twice) and having started VERY late in the season indicates that I’m not worried about a grind to build PVP skills and rating.

Could have been a lot of things that contributed to that, but I’m guessing a lot of people were raiding the first few days of the week, or maybe doing classic stuff. Whatever the case, finding people tends to be easier as you get closer to the weekend.
Yeah, it had occurred to me that Thursday night might not have been the best time to try jumping in to Season 2.
