Hey, at least PvE wise it’s been fantastic. Making some meme specs viable (sorry shadow priest) has brought a ton of life and possibilities to the classes.
PvP in Vanilla was always unbalanced, the new abilities just poured gasoline on the fire.

Every other game on the planet matches pre-mades against other pre-mades.
Why is this no-changes BS still in classic +?
Lol ok buddy
Seen this argument a lot, but if we consider class kits and what is and has always been used in PVE vs what is used in PvE, then we can safely observe that the classes while often imperfect have almost alway from WoW Vanilla to the Start of WoD; have always then designed for PvP and PvE was an afterthought.
You can make this very safe observation based on the skills that are utilized and usefin PvP while the tools used in PvE is tremendously limited.
Lets look at the most extreme and obvious example of this being the Vanilla Phase 1 Mage, where your PvE rotation is literally just FrostBolt while in PvP things are far more complex. Fast forward to say for example mop Frost, the only real difference is frozen orb proccing so you can lance and FFB on brain freeze. Meanwhile in PvP you make extensive use of your CC, kiting, movement, pillars, etc.,
PvP has always been and always will be the “all the time” activity that is more than 10X more complex than any raid ever, and further the raids have locks so we can’t drain them of loot in a single week, because PvE is the thing you do when you’re not doing PvP.
Warsong Gulch is garbage, it’s always been garbage, it always will be garbage. Not having Arathi Basin in the game ensures BGs suck.
However I actually think World pvp is better than ever before. And I think it’s mostly because of the level 25 lvl cap. No level 60s can run you down at level 30. You don’t even enter contested zones until you’re around level 20.
World pvp just works so much better with the level cap.
Shadow isn’t 60 nor are the others so its not possible to know, and level 25 is a meme, its kinda surprising that people are taking this seriously.
yea it’s ridiculous that people are complaining about shadow being bad. like, if it was good now, pretty sure it would be absurdly OP with shadowform lol.
It probably was an exaggeration to call PvP an “afterthought”, though I still contend the game is primarily balanced and designed around PvE - I could respond to each of your arguments in turn with my take but absent any confirmation from the original devs we may just need to agree to disagree on this.
However, I still feel it’s fair to point out that - even if the game is designed around PvP - that it certainly is not balanced to the extent that it could seriously be considered “competitive”, for the reasons I listed earlier.
And that’s fine. I much prefer asymmetrical PvP games, anyway. I think they’re more fun.
Yeah bro sitting in sheep for 20 seconds is great. Nailed it.
Cant fully agree or disagree because of a number of factors, but the simplest of them being 2.
As for Battlegrounds play if we look at that, Vanilla, TBC, and Cata Seasons 9,10 and 11 and Mop Sessons 13,14 and 15 were all excellent fun and honestly very well balanced, IMO WoD season 16 started good but went downhill very fast for numerous reasons.
Rolling on the floor, laughing.
Mate, don’t be deluded. It’s extremely embarrassing to see a grown adult live in that kind of mental fantasy land.
The holistic kits were designed with small-scale PvE in mind, like the kind you find in dungeons and the open world. They didn’t know raiding was going to take over the game, but the idea that they designed the game for PvP first is a deeply sad and concerning claim for you to make.
Perhaps you can do better in PvP if you level up to level 70, and get the full toolkit.
The game is mainly a PvE game, and all one needs to do is to compare the vast amounts of PvE quests compared to the few PvP quests.
No? There’s not a ton of overlap between Shadow enjoyers and Healing fans tbh.
Its not that bad. Warriors and balance druids are having a bad time. Rogues and mages are no longer gods. Its not super fun, but it isn’t super bad either.
Early WoD pvp was absolutely horrendous and cringe, SoD pvp is no where near as bad as it gets.
It sounds to me like you have a fundamental misunderstanding of how crit works. 20-25% crit reduction is no better than 10% crit reduction at this level. And 10% crit reduction would all but ensure that you aren’t crit, except by abilities which are guaranteed to crit. Nobody has more than 10% crit at this level.
Looking at my character, I have a 5.32% chance to crit. So if you were wearing that helm and I attacked you, then I would only have a 0.32% chance to crit you with the swing. So on average it would take me like 300 hits before I crit you. As opposed to taking an average of about 20 hits. The helm is very good for what it is, especially when there aren’t many helms in the game at this level.
ThTs why I’m saying the helm doesn’t matter.
Nobody is going to get 10 swings on you. The figuts do not last that long and you are not supposed to let people just whail on you uninterrupted.
I understand crit just fine, you just think the helm matters more than it does.
You aren’t supposed to let anyone get 10 hits on you not does any fight last that long regardless.
The helm is mids unless you have no helm. If you have a BFD helm or even the set, you’re just nerfing yourself or unless you’re the literal Druid flag carrier, or the only melee on ur team because they PLAN on tanking damage for longer than 3 seconds. They actually intentionally do so.Nobody else is doing that and can prevent it if they have the proper abilities at 25
Don’t care, didn’t ask, cope and seethe. Don’t like the game play a different game.
I fear the priests are going to go into BFD with the new buffs and still complain.
So like, in the mean time…
