TBC and Wrath were reasonably balanced. Reasonably balanced>>>>little/no balance. The fact that there will always be some sort of imbalance in games like WoW doesn’t absolve the devs of the responsibility to minimize said imbalance.
They fixed your “imbalance” in later expansions. You are not playing one of those. Wait till they are released, live with and enjoy classic as it is or go back to retail. They aren’t going to tray and “balance” the pvp specs in classic. No way, not ever. The balance attempts are what changed the game and started us down the road of boring homogenization because everyone cried about being “viable” in 1v1.
Fights in TBC/Wrath took too long. Especially in later patches. Classic is way better.
While true balance might be a myth, sure, not everyone (at least me for sure) expects perfect balance. I don’t think it’s possible. But it is very much possible to be MORE balanced.
You and so many other people on these forums seem to live and die by the slippery slope fallacy. It never ceases to amaze me.
Wrath resto druid duels Was legit who ever wanted to stick around the longest till the other one got bored and left lmao
Not sure you’ll say that when you hit the wall of SLSL/Dreamstate teams at high ratings, i know i’ll abuse it, cause why not.
SL/SL dreamstate was never a thing. Your burst heal wasn’t high enough vs 4/4 sets and Glaives.
okay
i mean where do you want this thread to go?
If they roll the patches like they do for classic, you won’t see that setup for a while. Have to clear Sunwell for 4/4, and Glaives need to drop.
Okay goodbye
Dreamstate wasn’t popular until that setup was available. Whether that was due to patch changes, or just that no one had thought of it before then, that I do not know. Before the Cheat Death change, rogues were just going in Full PvE, which was even harder to heal through.
Wpvp is all about who gets the jump on who
And who can pick the best path through kos mobs while kiting lol
Your argument is like the worst thing I’ve seen in a while. hahaha! L2P!
PvP in TBC is about who has the most resilience and most cookie cutter arena comp. World pvp is dead because of flying mounts and it’s dumb having to grind 2 separate gear sets to PvP and PvE.
Vanilla is an MMO and classes should not be balanced around 1v1 because its an MMO, get some friends you incel.
I was on EU back then (Ysondre-EU), pretty much every Druid was Dreamstate in S4 as far as i remember, including the Brutal Glad RLD on my server. Name of the Rogue was Farz, don’t remember the other two.
While you’d usually be right, the guy you’re replying to didn’t give a slippery slope. Blizzard’s attempt to balance classes results in all the classes being very similar. He’s exactly right. It’s one of the big differences between classic and retail.
Sure beats the trash on retail where everyone has so much self healing that you have to get through ALL OF THEIR CDs and then wait for your offensive CDs to come back up to even hope to kill someone
It’s the esports cancer. Everything has to be perfectly balanced so it’s fair, fun be damned. I was just reading about the stinky Smash Bros community having a meltdown about a map having a slight incline that made it not perfectly symmetrical and therefore “shouldn’t be allowed in competitive play.”
I’ve noticed this a lot in this community too. There’s one right way to do things and if anything out of the ordinary happens half the community drops their spaghetti all over the floor.
The state of gaming is sad, and it’s not just because of developers.
He likely was dreamstate in 2s, because it was designed to work with a rogue. In 3v3, druids were almost always 8/11/42 at high mmr. Sometimes more offensive builds were a thing, but never dreamstate in 3s. There was just too much damage being output.
It’s a slippery slope fallacy because his argument is that if even a modicum of balance is implemented, the game will go full retail. It’s an example of “black and white thinking” (or splitting) and anyone suggesting that to support their “no changes” pipe dream is being extremely disingenuous.
