PvP in Midnight

Personally I like it. Feels more like MOP/cata gameplay with the less buttons. When I came for tww I did arcane mage, and I had so many buttons I ran out of keybinds and had make new ones. Like 30+ buttons to press that are mostly situational but will be used, including some specific macros. Gameplay kinda sucks when you’re constantly tracking cooldowns.

League of Legends have 4 buttons, there are still bad players and good players. CS2 you just walk about and point and shoot, and there are still bad players and good players.

When they simplify the game, they simplify it for all. The skill floor drops, accessibility increases, but bad players will stay bad and good players will stay good.

played on beta 550 solo shuffle games, and theres enough space for mistakes

things like positioning will matter more and from what i have seen, kick into a cc chain have more impact to close games because currently it is really slow paced and the sustain of healing really high.

kinda impossible to win just by tunneling someone unless you are a unholy dk or bm hunter.

Midnight looks fun so far, but some classes got way too much gutted when it comes to the toolkit crys in renewal

Wow pvp did fine since version 1.0. But current blizzard care last about pvp.

Overall i think the changes are great, pvp feels so different. It’s not about who does the right rotation the quickest or the best, classes feel tankier and don’t die as quick, kinda feels like DOTA in a way.

I main survival and yes the skill expression is far far less; however, best players will lean towards the best positioning and timing of weaving in and out of combat.

It’s no longer just everyone diving in and hoping the do the most damage, noticing a lot more movement and weaving in and out of combat. I think this will also attract more players especially when console comes which pvp needs.

People don’t remember Warlords of Draenor. The pruning was much worse than this. We will be fine.

As a high experienced Resto Shaman with over 15 years of PVP play, I’m really sad they removed Healing Surge and Earthen specifically. The choice of whether to use a Healing Wave (slower, mana efficient, big base heal) vs. a Healing Surge (fast, mana costly, could be really big if it crits) in specific moments is a change that is going to simplify the “rotation” for people. Then Earthen, one of my favorite abilities. Since Legion, we’ve been able to “pre-earthen” a go. You finally had an external cooldown on some sorts that you could use before an RMP or Jungle go to “save” your team for that go. This past season, Earthen tuning was awful and it was almost a waste of a global, but even then, the skill cap of getting the pre-earthen off is sad to see go.

A lot of people will far somewhat off a little bit due to the change, but it will not be as drastic as you think. You are Duelist because you (along with your “team”) are trading bad, going the wrong targets at the wrong times, not doing sufficient go’s, etc. The players who are rank 1 aren’t going to fall down to 2.2 players because their UIs are gone. They are going to just have to retrain themselves to look at other indicators (like target/focus frames for buffs/debuffs) rather than rely on a WA to blurt it out for them.
