PvP gearing is bad and not fun (HELP)

My main game is CS:GO and I chuckle thinking about somebody having an M4 that does more damage simply due to some RNG reward given after a losing game for dropping 7 kills while I drop 30 and receive a sticker.

It's insane competitive players are OK with this because "that's how it's always been" but then are 100% ok admitting the only way to have a truly competitive environment is via tournament realm.

Like... what?

If the "carrot on a stick" when it comes to rated PVP is the gear, you're doing it wrong.

Please don't compare wow and csgo.

Never played csgo. Not sure what you are trying to say? :)

We've extended this thread so it can seem like your feedback is helpful, when in reality we can just know which thread to ignore.

Things may change now that Holinka is back
I, too, agree that gearing is bad and not fun.
I've pretty much only pvped this expansion, I've ran a couple +1 and +2 mythic dungeons. I don't enjoy mythic stuff. Its boring and overly punishing. I've also done a little raiding but I don't have the time to commit to a raid like I used to.

So it's pretty annoying when I'm in ilevel 355 gear (max) trying to break into 1400 rating and running into PVE players doing the same with ilvl 370+ gear. In order to get an upgrade I have to maintain a much higher rating than a pve player must. All they've got to do is raid each week and waltz into an appropriately high key.

I feel like these two tasks are not comparable. I really wish resilience was back.

So a friend and I have some similar issues. What we found was persistence and finding the right comp helps a lot. We went through various iterations. Rogue / Mage, Disc / Mage, Disc / Lock, Warrior / Monk, and a few others.

What we ended up on was Rogue / MW Monk. I tried outlaw and assassination, and we felt stronger as assassination. Neither of us are the best of players. You will not find anything impressive in my armory.

Yet, even when discouraged, we kept at it. We hit 1600 for the first time Saturday, with the game matching us against players with MMRs between 1600 - 1800.

I hope you and your friend find the success you are looking for.
Still waiting for the changes mentioned on the Azerite blue post recently, I've got a good feeling for us!
STILL no incentive for me to PVP. UGH. He's one of my posts I made and Things I would love to see:

"1. PVP vendors
2. bring back PVP related gear stats, like resil
3. TB, WG Epic BG's

I can't get myself to commit to high-end PVP. In the current state, it just seems very pointless. I can roll high-end PVE if I want to then come into pvp very easily. They need to eliminate this by distinguishing PVP gear from PVE gear.

PVE gear shouldn't be the best option in PVP just like PVP gear shouldn't be the best option for PVE. My idea, Add resil (decreased dmg from enemy players) or like effect to all PVP gear. Add a stat called like heroism or something (adds ATP while engaged in a boss fight) to all PVE gear. If you have Resil in your gear during a PVE instance, you get small penatly, such as -5% to all stats for that particular gear piece. The same goes for PVE gear while PVPing. It's not a massive penalty, but it's enopugh to make you want to farm gear for that particular mode. Nothing would effect you whilst questing or in WPVP because there isnt "competitive questing" or a rating for WPVP.

I know they had something like this for PVP gear in the past. IMHO, it was wonky and favored PVE in the sense that if you were wearing PVP gear, you suffered while questing big time until you engaged in world PVP combat.

I dunno, just my ideas...might be stupid. I've played PVP a very long time (since vanilla) and these changes would 100% get me fired up and pumped to start doing rated arenas and BG's again..."

We need to give blizzard as much feedback as possible. Even though it may seem pointless that one "casual" states it, if enough like the idea and add to it, we might see some change!!!!
I dont think they will read any of this, and if they do, they will Ignore it.
Eh... I still don't get why Blizzard doesn't give us [PvP Gear]...

Definition of [PvP Gear]
- Earn PvP Currency to buy PvP gear from a vendor
- PvP Gear has PvP specific stat which will be completely useless in PvE (example Resilience/ PvP Power)

I had enough being forced to do filthy PvE so i can PvP D:<
Oops, this fell from the first page. Let me fix that.
Anyone know why blizzard is so against vendors? Did they ever specify? If a large portion or majority of players openly say over and over again for years "we want vendors", I think it means blizzard is hellbent on not adding the feature in.

Could it be a bug preventing them? Probably not.

Could it be because having vendors means that people will get their gear when they know they will get it. This might mean that it will give less incentive to play= reason to unsub? Redundancy.

Blizzard don't trust anybody, outside the players on tournament realm, to choose their gear, we won't know what to choose, right?

I don't know if they are 'against' vendors. They're adding in azerite vendors, so logically a PvP gear vendor would follow suit.
My current helm is the result of BFA pvp gearing.....and bad rng
Might as well sticky this.

Necroing this thread to push for PvP vendors.

Vendors.
Please bring back PvP Vendors

Also to the Blue people on this forum take note that if you accidentally picked the wrong item from the weekly quest there is zero way to return and fix that.

This was a main point made by Ion & Lore that in the past people would buy the wrong item on vendors and it's why they removed them but at least you had 2 hours to return the item instead this new system makes it even worse as you then can't get the item almost ever again.
