PvP Gearing in Beta

So turns out, the PvP vendors on beta aren’t what we want. They give sub par gear that only has 3 stat iterations. Normally, they have a PvP specific stat which made even non optimal stat combinations worth it… this obviously isn’t the case and there’s no reason to not have a PvP specific stat

What is so hard about making it to where someone who wants to PvP, can get competitive gear through PvP? WoD had a simple fix… PvP gear is bis inside PvP, but average or even sub par in PvE content. What was wrong with this?

Competitive PvP gear can exist without having a PvP stat.

The problem is the people making the decisions don’t really pvp or even seem to understand it.

They think of it like pet battles or something. Something people just do when they’re bored.

the problem with that is that you would have to find a way to tune pvp gear being as hard and as rare to get as the equivalent pve gear.

Agreed WOD was the best way to do pvp gear I’m kinda sad I missed it actually that might of been pandaland but still kinda the same system. Point is pvp gear being best in pvp is fine with me and being average or sub-par for pve is fine because it would be a decent way to get decent gear quickly and then you can go for your bis pve gear

Tie it to rankings.

It would be current devs admitting their push for their own system is worse than what was previously in-game for 10+ years.

Gladiators must fight naked. No gear. You all keep saying pvp is a test of skill.

Prove it.

What ranking matches what? Also how would gear be given out and at what rate?

I know this would be the stuff the devs would have to look at but its just problems i see with systems… These are the same problems i had with M+ when it first came out.

Yes but why? When I can just go do a handful of mythics for 10% the challenge and get better gear for pvp anyway? Why would one be incentivized to climb the PvP ladder? It’s more difficult takes more communication and a lot more effort.

oh thats called PVE gear friend sorry for the confusion

We call that PvE gear, as seen in BfA.

I believe they already have this worked out. The ranking system already provides for a certain ilvl of gear, does it not? I assume 2400 would give the highest raid tier loot and you would divide the other tiers up in a similar fashion.

PvP stat is a dumb system. Let stats be stats. I feel like some PvPers want PvP stats just for some exclusivity that raiders dont have. Its silly.

But why would I do that when I can do a m15 and get the same thing with way less effort?

I missed the WoD version. I never got into PuGs, so I’d just do Ashran a bit, get to Heroic ilvl (700/705) and then hop around in HFC!

Then you are misdirecting your complaints about how the current system of gearing works. If you feel that its too easy to get higher tier loot from m+, then say that, but its not a good justification for a whole separate stat to be added to gear.

I agree. I am a thoroughly average player. I can untime a 15 any day of the week, but I tried getting into arenas this season and I’m hard capped at 1550.

You mean, they don’t PvP at all.

BfA is PvP designed by mythic raiders for mythic raiders.

If there was a PvP stat I would feel incentivized to get to a higher rating so I could get BiS PvP gear instead of farming m15s all day for my PvP gear.

What about unrated PvP?
