Many people jumped to celebrate the datamine of PvP power thinking it was some new pvp stat even though there was no mention of it officially and we ve known blizzard stance about pvp stats.
Looks like it wont be a thing in shadowlands, it was a failed experiment and that is good, because I and many others do not want to have a separate set for doing some casual pvp in warmode or bgs.
More importantly the real issue pvp gear is bad is because Pvers always cry that they are “forced” to pve because it happens that X pvp trinket or piece of gear sims 3% better than their pvp trinket, because of these people blizzard refuses to allow pvp gear to progress to high enough levels to compete with pve gear. That is what needs to be fixed.

I don’t know exactly how they plan on implementing it out, but if it was anything like where I can grind for a currency and snag PVP gear like MoP was, I’m all for it. It’s a step in the right direction at least if they want to beef up PVP participants.
I wish it was where we had to have 2 different sets. I know how horribly they worked with it before and such, but tbh I’m no game designer. I just know what I liked and disliked.
Good riddance. They should bring back a form of templates and just get rid of the barrier to entry in pvp.

I’d honestly just take WoD scaling pvp items again, so gladiator quality items aren’t absolute garbage when a mythic raider shows up.
Also old honor system rather than conquest.

I have never felt more confident in refusing to pre-order Shadowlands after reading this post.
I guess I’m going to be playing Cyberpunk 2077 or Mordhau until WotLK legacy comes out.

Honestly this is the best they ever did pvp gear. PvP only players could stick to PvP (iirc most r1 players used all PvP gear) but its wasn’t the massive barrier to entry that mop pvp had.

The problem is gear is gear, not differentiated between pve and pvp.
The issue comes from blizzard refusing to give good gear and upgrading to good ilvl to pvp because pvers will cry that they are “forceD” to pvp

I wonder if we could grind for a pvp token that applies pvp stats to targeted item…?
I also enjoyed the MOP format.
Thank goodness ralph has told us that PvE gear will once again be the only gear worth having in PvP. I don’t know what I would have done without confirmation that Ralph never changes.

That is so simple and elegant, I love it.
That would be an interesting way to do it, but I would support something like that. I’m just curious how the said pvp stat would integrate with the other stats and pve.

No PvP stat is only ok if they do add WoD style ilvl scaling (with caps on PvE gear) and also disable all PvE garbage like legendaries, trinkets and other systems like soulbinds. They indicated today they aren’t going to disable legendaries or any of the SL systems in PvP, at least initially, which really bodes badly for PvP IMO.
Hopefully they will actually listen during beta this time, but I’m not holding my breath. Preparing for another BFA where M+ and other PvE garbage is required to be competitive.
