The PTR was just updated and still didn’t notice any changes in the cost of Vengeful / Brutal PvP gear.
The accessories vendor was updated and shows all the off pieces for just honor. No rating requirement or Marks of Honor needed.
But the vendors in Nagrand still have everything at the normal price, also Brutal shoulders / weapons still have a rating requirement on them.
Ideal scenario is Vengeful gear would be Honor and Brutal would have Arena point cost reduced by 50%, but no way to tell for sure yet.
Just trying to look for some clarification on what the plan is on the cost of PvP gear moving forward.
But I’m also wondering if the prices of the gear will go up? If we get the wrath honor system that means we get alot more honor per bg so maybe the prices for vengeful will be alot.
I’m pretty sure that was the only thing that changes in 2.4 the s3 and s4 gear remained arena points but rating requirements for the off pieces were removed. Probably why so many people were running around in s2 gear the first time around in wotlk and not s3 or s4.
Also I don’t think the arena point items switch to honor until the START of the next season, not when the current season ends, since honor is reset each season start. I could be wrong though. that would mean s3/s4 wouldnt change to honor points until like 2 weeks into wotlk. not that it would matter at that point.
I dont expect the Point/rating costs to be adjusted on the PTR as they roll out with the end of the season.
Im sure when they finally get around to announcing the end of the PvP season, they will tell us what their plans are. Honestly i hope they give us S4 gear discount and S3 gear as honor (even better to have S4 move to honor after first 2 weeks of season end) because it just encourages people to participate in PvP.
The S3/S4 weapons are excellent for new alts/players to start leveling in Northrend. Since there is no rated PvP left in TBC, would rather they just let people quickly gear up and have fun for the 4-6 weeks leading up to launch.
That said, blizz are still VERY intermittent with their updates being postes. Would not suprise me if they gave us 1 week notice for season end and not touch PvP item costs at all.
