I was in a bg and this happen to me. A Druid on our team said welcome to 2 months ago learn how to counter it… I logged shortly after and decided to go outside.

Even with the “nerf” to boomkins the damage should be backloaded, this “nerf” isn’t even going to change much if anything with them…If I play correctly and silence their convoke immediately I shouldn’t be getting globaled from full health.

I’m not a huge fan of the burst meta but it’s better than 10 minute matches. If nobody is getting huge nerfs then just buff other classes up to them.

I remember many of us voicing how terrible the balance was in the first few weeks and everyone was like “just wait for tuning. This is typical” still waiting and still not typical.

Some freaking chiken did this to me on a rated arena, they just spilled all their spells to me and i die, man. Not fun. I was on my shaman lmao

See the problem here is he didn’t use his sword to cut the starsurges in half, thus making them split and go around him, avoiding all damage.
Amateur mistake, convoke is fine.

Go watch the finals to see how people deal with convoke. Boomkin got absolutely owned.

Convoke is actually the EASIEST of the burst windows to avoid and counter, of all the idiotic burst crap that goes on right now. In your trinkets down, and get a 6 second judgement on you, and then wings, you’re dead 100% of the time with zero you can do to counter it. Arms, Ret, WW, MM, Boomkin are all in the same boat, only difference with convoke, is that it’s a 4 second channel with a name on it, so everyone gravitates to it because it’s so easy to spot.

People get deleted in this game from so many different classes, the fact that this particular one gets singled out goes to show how important branding is. Convoke has the best branding in the game, because the world CONVOKE is up on everyones screen for the longest time. Get yourself an addon that puts up the words ‘judgement’ or ‘wings’ or ‘combust’ that stays up the entire time it’s active, and see how you feel about things.

Is convoke idiotic! You bet, but no more idiotic than any of the other burst windows in this game, and actually the only one you can avoid the brunt of if you’re aware.

Ahh another one button druid, it’s okay cause once they realize this upcoming “nerf” isn’t enough they are gonna get gutted and we’re gonna have lots of boomys rerolling. It’s bad when you can level and gear so fast that you legit see boomkins with convoke in their name. The legit leveled that character just for the one ability.
