the main difference between the recent 2-3 expansions and this one/panda (idk didn’t play it) was gear disparity. now that everyone is on the same gear lvl, it’s actually insanely harder to climb to 2400.
max pve ilvl award was 2100cr in shadowlands with the gear disparity, so it makes no sense to increase it now.
I don’t really care much about PvE item level as I do about the weapon appearance which should be down to 2100

No, in shadowlands 2400 elite still gave 3 iLvL higher in PvE. Only the PvP iLvL stopped at 2100.
Furthermore, the idea is that high lvl arena play rewards you with PvE gear similar to heroic raiding. If you want that ilvl for PvE blizzard has purposefully set it up so that only a small portion of skilled PvP players can attain it, the main source of acquisition is still meant to be from PvE otherwise the PvP gear would scale to mythic ilvl.
This is to discourage PvE players to feel forced into PvP content for raiding gear and is 100% by design. Sorry dude, either get better at PvP or go do the M+ / Raid equivalent for the gear you want for PvE.
you said it twice. it’s now not mythic ilvl. the main reason it was an issue in the beginning of shadowlands was the max pve ilvl award WAS mythic ilvl. now that it isn’t it makes no sense to gate the max heroic raid ilvl at 2400 or even 2100cr especially given how pvp has become way more difficult this expansion compared to the previous two (gear isn’t an exploited advantage anymore).
Max PvP gear is meant to be a reward from Rated Arena/RBG’s, much in the same way max PvE gear is meant to be a reward from Mythic Raiding and high lvl M+ keys. There is no problem with the current division of gear, if you need higher lvl PvE gear for doing world content… then I don’t know what to tell you. Anyone who really NEEDS Mythic level gear will be doing Mythic raiding.
Gearing is wayyy easier this expansion compared to the last two. Pushing in Solo Shuffle is incredibly easy, and never before have we seen so many players 2700+ in the bracket this soon into the season.

because ilvl of gear should never be tied to PVP period. It should be blue and purple no upgrades thats it. If you want pve gear, go do dungeons, go do raids, go do world pve content.
that’s terrible from a business perspective. you’re forcing a pain point into the pvp+pve user base which is a lot, reducing their game time because no one wants to waste their entire life grinding two sets of gear
m+ is already insanely grindy as it is with its reduced loot since its shadowlands implement

The current system gives some PvE ilvl as a participation award for getting rating, but it’s designed to push players into real PvE content for PvE gear. Anyone who really needs 408 iLvL gear will do the relevant PvE content for it because they are likely doing that content anyway.
There are very few people who push high keys and arena rating on the same char. The detrimental thing is having PvP gear be super appealing like it was in Sinful which lead to a lot of anxiety from PvE players about financing a carry to “be competitive”.
I duno what everyone is upset about. Bet I do KSM this season in Rival-Duelist PVP gear like I always have. Rival is what? 398 ilvl? That’s the base ilvl that gear drops at for doing 15-16 keys. That’s more than sufficient to do your 15’s in. If you care more about PVE than that, then you should be farming keys already.
