PvE gearing is Superior to PvP gearing

It’s not new content, it’s old content with a fresh coat of paint put over it.

Heres an analogy for you:

If you could choose between getting a new car or having your old car get a fresh coat of paint on it, which one would you choose?

Yeah, and noone really wanted Trashran to be brought back.

Wintergrasp is an old zone put into the BG que system, doesn’t count.

For a limited time only and it’s still just them just reusing an old map.

Not the same thing as getting actual new BG’s.

???

For the longest time we had a perfect system of gearing where you could spend these things called honor points and conquest on PvP unique gear which had a stat called resilience so you could participate in PvP.

This, and also in WoD we had a system where PvP gear had separate item levels in PvE and PvP.

We also got repainted content with Naxx. It happens. But personnaly I feel as far as bg and arenas goes we got enough. Maybe a new game mode for pvp would better, I’d really like medium maps as 6v6 with objectives.

As I said earlier in the thread, for several expansions you could PvP at literally the highest levels without touching any PvE at all. What we are expecting is for the game to operate in the way that it did for the last like, decade. Maybe you don’t know how things worked, but it did work. Look at PvP participation now, and you’ll see what they’re doing is clearly not working.

I disagree. We have a lot of dungeons and raids in the game, that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t add more. Can you imagine what would happen if they stopped doing that?

We also never had to do a silly tedious time-gated world quest humping trickle grind to roll new races. Welcome to the new WoW. Seems they just keep making everything worse.

I feel it’s a bit different than to want to cut on arenas. Not making new dungeons for an expansion would just mean that people would have no dungeons to do.

People doing arenas could keep doing arenas even with old arenas, and if it is to bring a new game mode and new maps for it to pvp I feel that’s a fair tradeoff. Not saying that they should stop completly ever to do arenas, just that I feel that it’s time to bring a new mode for pvp that isn’t a bg or an arena, something in between.

Nope, no clue how it worked as, like i said before, never participated in PvP in this game. I wasn’t arguing against the specific things you’re asking for in the slightest sense. Just offering an explanation as to why it is the way it is. Especially in this day and age with the current team we got.

I wish you all the best of luck but I wouldn’t be holding my breath if I were you.

The issue with their using PvE gearing for PvP is scaling. In PvE you (mostly) do content which is appropriate to your item level. You progress in gearing as you progress in content. In PvP, however, encounters are a simple queue so when you’re a new 350 ilvl 120 you’re facing that geared 430+. The problem is exacerbated by pruning. At one time you could still CC an enemy player and contribute until you were adequately geared, now it’s more stand and deliver your rotation making gearing the primary concern for an encounter. PvP gearing needs to follow a different curve.

I think Blizzard knows this, they just don’t care. Whatever gets the product out the door fast and cheap.

Sure, killing dumb IA with monotonous mechanics is more difficult than defeating actual human beings.

Lol don’t make me laugh

Don’t dumb.

Not really true.

Meh, we sort of have that already in the form of brawls.

you have to pve to pvp in modern wow.

PvP actually throws out amazing gear you just need to be GOOD at it. if you’re 2400+ in arenas you get gear higher than heroic raid gear thrown at you constantly and mythic raid lvl gear in your weekly chest.

2400+ is like 1% of the player base. The equivalent PvE gear is much more accessible.

I’ll go back to the original example of pve players out gearing PvP players: there are halfwit backpedaling keyboard turning dragon slayers running around with significantly better gear than most of the PvP playerbase.

Progression and accessibility are just completely out of balance when it comes to PvE vs PvP gearing.

I just dont think people with 1600 rating deserve the same gear as heroic raiders or people who run mythic +10s. Even at 1800 or 2100 its possible to get really good gear and thats not super hard to do.

By the end of a season basically all PvE focused players will outgear a 2100 player.

There is a simple solution to that.

And it would be reintroducing the WoD scaling system on PvP gear.

And also, it’s so much easier to farm a raid boss for the specific piece that you want than it is to get to that rating and hope for RNG to favor you.

If the release of Classic also causes them one day to release a WOTLK server, then I will pay my monthly sub exclusively for that expansion’s PVP.
