I have a niche idea for maybe a niche take on military roleplay in World of Warcraft. I know there are a lot of guilds around that sandbox and RP as military entities or personally as commanders. I also personally love wargaming and the Blizzard community seems to like RTS and 40k.
I made a project I call “Commander” where people can on a LARGE scale roleplay as actual commanders: Be it in fanfiction, playout past battles like Menethil in the 2nd War, or current events like fighting the Void.
Commander is a wargaming model that I made to be hosted on Google Earth Pro for desktop. Think of it like Risk with two teams (red and blue) and an adjudicator (white). You use the wizard on the web page to set up your forces, there a tab to create your military style map icons for units, invite your friend, and you duke it out!
The rules are simple, be as tactical or as lax as you want, the white cell helps facilitate and the website has helpers to turn jargon into plain speak or plainspeak in to jargon.
Turns are automatically merged once you get the downloads set up and you just submit them via the website. Itll sync to discord to notify your partner or team. Strategize, get in game and war table it out over the map, get bragging points between friends.
This differs from Warcraft-Warcraft III (reforged etc.) in the sense that its a sandbox for you to RP in. The story is your to make, the units are yours to give flair to, the army is yours to command. Technically its different gameplay as well because wargaming promotes tactics rather than unit deployment and auto attacks.
Hope someone can enjoy this slice of RP as much as me. Maybe Blizzard might make it proper!
