They probably kept it on to get the set bonus. Not everyone is able to pay the exhorbitant costs of updating heirlooms. (Yes, I know, go earn gold but hey, there could be poor or time restricted players out there…)
Set bonus breaks once you outlevel.
All you have to tell you is your set count going down and the level requirement that looks something like 1-49 (32) or something.
You’re clearly very confused. I’m against dumb suggestions dictating / forcing players into doing something they may not want to do. If people don’t want to hold onto gear, or go back and farm easier content they shouldn’t have too. In case you haven’t noticed, the game is meant for all sorts of casuals. What kind of crap is hitting level x and all of a sudden having 6 pieces invalidated? I’m fine with the OP’s idea of giving players an extra notice that their gear is out dated, because that’s easy enough to miss for some. However I’m against forcing a game mechanic on someone which instantly screws them, because their gear levels are an inconveniences to you. Kapish?
Reinforce bad behavior by examining players gear for them and removing that responsibility from the player. Ima go with a no on this one.
Set bonus goes away if you out level them.
OK, but didnt the OP say that the other person’s character was level 45? That was how I read it. And heirlooms go up to level 49. But yes, I guess if they outlevelled the heirloom then the set bonus would vanish.
With the BoAs not having durability they could use the angry red man to display out leveled items.
Have it display the yellow when you’re AT level and go to red when you’re over level.
“Looks at heirlooms, back at post, back to heirlooms…slowly taking each piece off one by one”
Starts throwing silver and yelling SHAKE IT!
Runs off into the cold northrend snow, nude…
At this point, just remove the ranks of heirlooms - it’s a stupid cash sink that isn’t even worth investing in.
a simple coloured boarder around an outdated heirloom’d be pretty reasonable to implement. Add flavour on Mouseover to boot, easy.
Not a bad idea at all.
Yeah, you could even have that piece of armor flash when the character screen is open.
This would be helpful. Realized my alt had pants that capped at 34… at level 45.
What’s the drop rate on gear in dungeons? Has it changed to the new improved next to nothing drop rate or could someone gear while leveling?
I would have left too, it always amazes me to see people not take pride in their characters in making sure they have the correct gear and ilvl
exactly, or use the armor damage indicator that pops up when your armor is broken and needs repair
Again, this is a MMORPG. Much like any other rpg, you have to earn your way. Nothing is handed out on a silver platter. No matter how casual you are, you can still have to put in the effort, and as a result it feels more rewarding as compared to being handed everything for free.
Or they could just run a query on maintenance day that upgrades them all to max.
Okay you’re clearly 100% a troll. Thanks for playing.
