“Pumpers only” groups don’t usually have very many pumpers and the RL and/or their friends are hard carries.
Whenever I see “pumpers only” I basically just ignore that group. I usually play healer as well, and to me it feels like that kind of group would be more likely to be rude. Now you can’t know that for sure, but that’s just what my mind goes to, and if the dps are so worried about “pumping” their probably not dodging/kicking mechanics and that will only make my job harder.
To add that I have noticed for Keys that are +2 to +7:
ilevel XXX requirement = the key we are doing drops XXX-5 ilevel gear or won’t give you the crests you are needing to be at XXX in the first place
I’ve only joined “Pumpers Only” groups in MoP Remix because those raids aren’t exactly hard once you have upgraded your gear at 70.
“Pumpers only” usually means "This is my alt and I want to be carried by people who don’t need/want any of the gear.

You know some people find this really annoying, but I see nothing wrong with asking once for each piece of gear.
I do think it is best not to bother the same person over and over again. Whether they gave you a piece or not, and silence should be taken as a “no” to the request, and you shouldn’t bug them anymore.
You may just ask in party if anyone doesn’t need than you are trying to gear. Being open about what you need can be very helpful to gearing a character fast.
I’m sorry, but what are “Pumpers?” I’ve never heard such a term.
The IQ on these forums are almost embarrassing. In what world do you think running with “friends” from there is going to experience anything remotely close to the actual pug experience
