Neltherion made the Drakthyr just before the whole “Night Elf Apocalypse” I believe.
This means that the dominant forces of people on the planet at this time were
-Trolls
-Night Elves
-Tauren
-Pandaren
-Earthen
If the Drakthyr visage forms were to let them blend in with and coexist with these mortal (and immortal) races then WHY DO THEY LOOK NOTHING AT ALL LIKE ANY OF THEM!!!
Notably the Visages look like Humans and Blood Elves.
Humans didn’t exist at this time. Vrykull were sleeping and while Curse of Flesh existed, they hadn’t yet devolved into humans.
Blood Elves weren’t a thing. High Elves weren’t a thing.
So all I’m left with is that
1 - Neltharion was given command over the underground and the earth because his poor vision and inability to tell people apart would hinder him the least in a dark environment bereft of people.
2 - Neltharion was a moron.
3 - There’s a later retcon coming to justify this, because Danuser writing.
Apparently now it’s a ‘visage form will help people trust you’ but with all the crud involving the Dreadlords, and black dragonflight og crew, with turning into other things to disguise and infiltrate, I’d think visage forms would make people trust them LESS, especially other adventurers!
did you ever read the story of when an orc attempted to Unknowingly put an axe in a Dragons head who had assumed a human form? in case you hadnt he stopped it with one hand, and freaked everyone out, imagine if they had seen deathwings true form
Dracthyr, as a race, basically equate to a class (which is Evoker). That class should extend to all playable races (because there is no reason not to). Dragons such as Chromie decide their visage form. To not allow that for players and set such boring limitations would be a grave injustice at this point in the game.
This is literally not true. MoP and WoD both had major changes happen to entire zones during the alpha/beta tests.
Major changes can occur, but the circumstances behind the changes have to be pretty significant. There also has to be enough time for the change to be done, get tested and then be ready to ship.
That’s exactly my point. What I said is absolutely true, when you take into context everything I said. Big changes can still occur. But only IF there’s enough impetus. Which in this case, there’s unlikely to be.
I havent watched much content on DF but isnt there an insane amount of customisation built on top of the frames that doesn’t exist for the other races?
I don’t think there is or ever was a rip cord to pull.
If it were to ever happen, it would probably be a patch feature. Not only due to the work involved, but they’d likely have some lore-ish reason like “after spending time with your new faction, you learn to blend in better.”
