Pugging 13s

Yes, I’ve failed several times in +13 runs with pugs. Out of 10 groups I joined, 9 would fail. Sometimes it was my mistake, other times it was a DPS not interrupting, a tank pulling too much, or a tank without a proper route in HoA, among other reasons. In the end, in higher keys any mistake can break the key, so I think it’s normal to fail most of the time when playing with pugs in+13 or higher. I feel relieved for having reached 3k, now I only do +10s for the vault.

I 100% agree with that.

I’ve had the same experience. Having a guild or friends doesn’t guarantee anything. In my guild, I’ve never been able to gather everyone to form a full group; at most, sometimes I could get 1 DPS to join me. When you log in, they’re often already in a key or their group is full. Having a guild and friends doesn’t mean you’ll never have to pug. I even have 5 Battle.net friends who do M+, but I still haven’t been able to play with all of them at the same time because our schedules don’t match.

At this point i am 100% sure we are seeing the result of resilient keys and boosting. There are WAY too many people doing 7s or higher that have scores from 12s or higher last season that dont know any mechanics even in last seasons dungeons.

How does a 7 priory fail when 2 people are 2.6k last season and 2 are oner 3k last season? No kicks, didnt do affixes, and hard failed boss mechanics… all 4 did failed. Not just one person.

No kicks, no dispels, butt pull evetything, stand in everything… over and over at the 10+ level?

Friends make the same kinds of mistakes that pugs make. The only difference is how they treat each other after the mistakes happen. My friends aren’t key pushers and I’m not just going to look for new friends. I can comfortably get 13s done by the end of the season and that’s as high as I want to go.

Lol saw that.

Yes, at 95% you have skill issues because the gap between 95 and 99 is enormous.

This is pretty much what we want out of pugs… Friendly vibes but all we get are egotistic losers.

Or people who dont speak english.

Agree, remove the debuff so people can leave dead keys again instead of systematically passing the buck onto someone else.

In general people who can make friends play with friends play with said friends, and people who can’t pug. The obvious outcome of these pair of facts taken together is obvious.

So many pugs wipe to that first pull. But at least it’s early in the key so you know if you should abandon.

I got R12s done last week and am working my way through 13s now. It has been challenging. I am tanking, and my old routes no longer seem efficient enough, so I’m having to look for ways to combine pulls. I spend more time consulting other tanks in the class discords, and friends who tank, and looking at other groups’ routes on Threechest-dot-io, than I do actually running keys. I have the two easy ones, imho - EcoDome & Dawnbreaker - but still have many to go.

Bro but why are you pugging these keys who require team coordination?

Not always the case. I have many friends, and I M+ with some of them every week. But not all my friends need the same ++ of keys that I do. Many of my friends already have their regular groups, and are only occasionally available to group with me. I had my own regular push group last season, but it broke up the week before this season started. I have not found a new one, so most of my progress keys - the ones where I got score - have been pugs. Most of my keys with friends have been me tanking lower keys for guild mates.

Most of the pugs I’ve tanked for have been fine with no drama, even when someone screws up. Pareto Principal applies: It’s always 20% of the players causing 80% of the drama, just like in real life. And generally speaking, the drama goes down as you move up in key level. I mean, people are usually disappointed and sometimes even frustrated when we miss, but in 12s and 13s it’s almost always “GG” and “Sorry for key”.

HoA and Ara are the main villains in this season.
I timed some 14s but 13 hoa is still eluding. It is usually the tanks dont know about the efficient route. Dps has been ok.

In one try, arcane mage was doing 4.7 mil and he was thinking that he was pumping lel.

The expectations at 13’s is high though. People want zero F ups because at this stage in the season they are considered lower keys because of the gear curve.

Sorry for not specifically attaching the phrase “In general” to my comment, I figured common sense ought to be common but I’ll be sure to include it next time just for you.

because 60 > 13 ?

HOA is impossible with randoms. ara kara is a skill check and most of them will fail at the end boss. i propose a new mechanic if you dont use your defensive or utility your character loses it forever and you have to level a new one to get it back on the new char of course.

nah, priory is. It’s the worst dungeon to pug at high key,

Higher and lower are always relative. I’m well aware that I’m not elite and that many are running higher keys than I am. Happens every season. Plenty of players running lower keys too. I have noticed a trend where most of the keys I time for the first time? Everyone or almost everyone in group got score. Over and over every season.

Ara’Kara can be rough to pug, but people really wanted the sacbrood. I would have rather had a different dungeon that was more interesting or fun.
