Can’t speak for all crafters, but I have never seen public orders this dead. A system overhaul is needed. Or maybe finally bring guaranteed 5/T crafted gear to public orders.
What do you think? Is it dead on your server.

They’re still good for pvp gear at the start of the season, and for a lot of misc stuff at the beginning of expansion. The upgrade system means no one accepts yolo quality anymore though.
But eh. I don’t really care if there’s no public orders, patrons are more consistent and pay better.

I thought it was DOA when professions were overhauled in Dragonflight.
Now all I see are multiple orders for reagents where item quality is not important, usually by the same people over and over again with a horribly lowball tip.
I don’t understand why the minimum quality option isn’t available like in guild or personal orders.

What needs done:
- Allow people to choose the quality they want crafted.
- Require all mats at the quality level needed for the craft.
- Show a graph of current weekly tip trends so people know what they should tip.

Yes something needs to be done, otherwise it’s a dead system, except for occasional pvp orders.
Even the treatise for professions are not popping up. Too bad–for two xpacs I made most of my gold from public.

I have never seen a public order. Not a single one since they were introduced in Dragonflight. I guess that I have always looked at the wrong time.

I dont care for the new FF14 crafting system, i switched to just gathering mats in DF and sell in the AH. If I do engage its just to craft a cosmetic i want

Always did patron stuff for the quests.
And I make my own PvP equipment, so never relying on public orders, not since DF at least.

I’m on a very much alive server but I’ve never seen a public order. As I got into crafting I checked here and there but never saw one so now I don’t bother checking.
It’s all sniped by addons and people that sit there all day, there’s just really no place for a casual to pop in and pick up an order here or there.

Only sporadically see PvP stuff. Sometimes decor. Gems a couple of times.
Trade is hit or miss. There definitely seems to be hot hours and then nothing.
Public orders have pretty much been dead since day one. Unless they allow you to set the quality for them, everyone will use the private order system.

It’s always been dead.
There’s no point in it even existing if you can’t define what you’re paying for.
What ever the reason is that they wont allow you to set quality it’s so massively overshadowed by that fact I don’t even know where to begin.

Me on alts when I don’t want to waste the time or funds on the quality of mats.
I’ve put in public orders for weapons for alts and told people that it doesn’t have to be best quality. Because I wanted to just get it filled and didn’t care, 'cause alt.
But I have a lovely server of wonderful people who have either crafted highest or tried to craft it as high as they could and sent notes that they tried their best.
I love my server group.

Better would be a system that pays a percentage of the commission based on quality. Like 10% for 1 star, 20% for 2 star, 30% for 3, 50% for 4, and 100% for 5. Then the requester either gets the 5 star item they hoped for, or a partial refund.
And then, if you really need it to be 5 star, you can go seek a crafter to do a personal order.
No, I see a few items every day for JC and LW. Mostly PvP gear. But sometimes normal gear.
I’ve probably filled 100 of them this season.

Doesn’t change my experience. I don’t doubt they exist. I have just never seen one.

They get filled pretty quickly, even on my server.
