These were some of the only interesting things about old AV. Glad they were in Korrack’s Revenge also when that event was in BfA.
Sometimes “exploits” become part of the identity of a game. Especially when they’re around for 15 years and most people know they are there. It’s not like they were difficult to do or counter like getting on the roof of WSG.
Even in modern AV some classes can still get up by the cliff at the Aid Station.
I know a several people that received 5 day bans for afking in AV. It happens just not as much as we could hope for.
First, this is not a HUGE deal… but Blizzard should really tread carefully here.
The whole point of Classic is to relive the game as it was before things like “extra bag slots”, or store mounts, or even summoning stones. These little perks, and deals, and ease of access things, when added up over the years, changed WoW into what it is today… and have no place in Classic. Adding the bag slots, or a little “+” sign near my bags until I add an authenticator, is the first of many things that will make Classic not feel like the intended snapshot of WoW that was promised.
Simple solution, offer the authenticator while getting rid of the bag slot perk. Account Security is incredibly important, and we completely understand the urge to incentivise it, but you just can’t do it in a game-changing way to Classic… maybe send everyone who gets an authenticator one of those old-school Keychain ones via mail? Maybe give a free month of game time per year?
relax, you don’t need to input your authenticator code every time you login, just whenever you log into a new computer.

I think Blizzard shouldn’t be making major decisions like account security based on how many seconds it will cut off the fastest speedrun, especially when the alternative is them continuing to have to waste customer support resources on helping people recover lost accounts.
Are you complaining because blizzard is offering a free way to further secure your account for a reward of 4 extra bags slots?
Its literally a yes or no notification on the free phone app, you only have to do it the first time on a new device.

You both know that the 4 additional bag slots are only applied to your backpack making it go from 16 slots to 20 slots right?
4 additional bag spaces in your backpack isn’t going to break anything (we have it on retail right now) and it should help the dev team who are dealing with hacked accounts reduce their load where more people will be using authenticators.
Vanilla was Nexus Crystal, Abyss Crystals was WoTLK…

I’m getting exalted with the Stormpike Guard before the next phase and then never coming to AV again. I feel bad for people who are gonna try to get exalted next phase, it will be as bad as the rank 14 grind. The AV battleground is completely skewed for the Horde, but that’s how it was back in Vanilla as well, so I’m fine with it really. I don’t have to like every aspect that stayed the same since Vanilla but I can respect not changing things just so things are easier for the players. We’d have Dungeon Finder in Classic if they had that mentality lol
Shame they didn’t do pre-1.8 AV (patch where AV was trimmed down; both geographically and NPC wise). From reading about it, there was a lot more you could do to ‘turn the tide’.

But the thing that I see missing is terrain exploiting in SM Cath and Maraudon that mage bots use to farm gold.
And omg are we really griping about an additional 4 bag slots for securing your account? Lol there are bigger hills to die on than that people. Come on. Majority of times you people gripe about the stupidest things.

We’re not giving 100,000 bots another free month of game time because you can’t handle your guildie Joe having an extra four bag slots man. I’m sure it will still feel like classic even with a plus icon on the bag UI.

How come I can’t copy my character in the PTR Classic? It just says “copy in progress” with a load wheel spinning until I time out and get disconnected. Anyone else have a similar issue, or know of a potential reason why this issue occurs?
