No. It is not a buff. Buff indicates net gain. This is either net nothing or net loss since they are fixing the feel energy regeneration bug.

it did however indirectly buff Soul Strike, no idea if it will still be comparable to VF though

TBF i’d be fine with NP just summoning based on soul shards spent, can maintain the standard rotation and find the sweet spot to pop tyrant. would make it feel a bit smoother IMO as opposed to 1 shard HOGs

So it’s a yes on those buffs for 8.1?

The amount our haste stat contributed towards pet energy regeneration was ‘twice’ what blizzard wanted it to be. That gets ‘fixed’ in 8.1. The 15%/25% pet buff was to try to balance out the dps lost with that fix.

Obviously for profoundly undergeared warlocks with very little haste, this will be a huge improvement. For highly geared warlocks with lots of haste, it will -not- be a buff, quite the opposite.

Which is frustrating, considering we’re still very far behind affliction, and leaves us with less hope of ever closing the gap as we gear up.

I absolutely do not see the changes to Nether Portal as a buff. 2 additional shards cost less than 3 seconds to generate, less even still with DB procs, and we trade that time for 5 less seconds on portal? No thank you.

The sacrificed souls Nerf will hurt. For the ramp we have it should be baseline imo.

I think Nether Portal would be better if it provided some kind of damage/stat buff to the caster as its primary effect, and just left the summoning per Shard spell as a secondary effect, while they figure out how they want it to work.

Netherportal just really needs a lower cd. And go back to 20 sec.

If it was on a 1 min cd, then i think it would b fine.

I honestly still feel like sacrificed soul os still the best choice in the tier. But it would b nice if they just gave 3 talents that modified tyrant.

1-demonic consumption-same as it is.
2-nether portal-when tyrant is summoned he leaves the nether portal open for his duration. Nether portal changes to just summon a demon every 3 sec with a chance to summon an additional demon.
3-demonic tyrang turns your shadowbolt into shadowbolt volley allowing you to hit all hostile targets within 20 yards for its duration(great shard builder for aoe fights)
