i generally don’t ask for a tip since i get a lot of free mats out of crafting but i am quite grateful when people do. the only time i might ask for money is if i need to blow conc

I never craft anything, but I recently crafted a 675 weapon and asked in trade chat…1st guy wanted 5k and I told him I didn’t want to spend that much…then said he would do it for 3K but still too high…a few seconds later someone offered to do it without charging anything. I gave him a 1K tip. I’d give more if I could afford it but I just don’t have a lot.
I think I crafted 2-3 things total in TWW and each time it wasn’t too much trouble to find someone to do it for free…so I dunno how these people who charge 5k+ manage to find people…maybe people are so rich that 5k is chump change to them shrugs.
You do know they craft for profit, right?
So, they’re going to want more than what it’ll cost to cover just the mats.

So basically you don’t want to compensate people who put in the time to learn to do something, and are taking time out of their day to ply their craft and make you something.

As I always say (because I have all professions maxed) to anyone who asks me how much should they tip me: If you provide all the mats tip me whatever you feel like.
If the tip is 1 silver I’ll still do it so long as everything is there.
Sometimes I get 1 silver as a tip, sometimes I get 420g 69s 0c, usually I get 1k-5k, and some crazy people have tipped upwards to 50k before (which was from Naxx and T3 crafting).

Had one demand 250K in tip for one with an upgrade token for the higher ilvl and I provided all the mats!
I give like 10k for crafts cuz 10k is not really that much
If they put something up on public and have say a 1g tip, I will remove all of my crafting equipment just to make sure it won’t be 5*. Now buy the mats again and tip something reasonable

Or accept it and go do something else for 30 minutes until it expires, haha.
There’s compensation. Always trying to paint people in a negative way, very uncouth.
It’s a buyers’ marketplace. Sourcing the materials and reagents independently of the seller knocks off the price tremendously.
Yeah I don’t get some of the really low public order commissions. I wonder if they know crafters only have 4 public crafts they can do before they have to wait on CD.

You can’t set the quality for public orders, so you’re basically wasting gold at that point.
All mats provided with the order is baseline. I’m not going shopping for mats for any rando.

Well, you have one good eye, so you might want to put an asterisk on that.
I pay 3 to 5k per craft. They never ask or tell me how much. Most of the time they thank me so seems fair.

Well if there’s a public work order for gear with 100g commission, unless I’m getting a first craft bonus or skill up, I personally wouldn’t touch it.
Someone will eventually put up some orders with 1000-2000 commission and I’d rather put my limited public work orders on bigger fish if I can help it.

Was that before or after you lost it in the first place? It’s a good thing one of your Demons is a literal floating eyeball.
No one puts that much up for a public order.
