PSA-Lag/Disconnects US Southeast Region

For those unaware, there is an issue with ISPs in the Southeast. AT&T, Comcast/Xfinity, and Spectrum users all confirmed to be affected. Utilizing a VPN and connecting to a server outside the region has resolved the issue for myself and numerous others.

Thank you, it worked for me. My latency was 1000+ and I couldn’t even log out without closing WoW. I fired up my VPN, connected thru NYC and everything was fine (albeit a little slower than normal due to VPN).

This issue is only affecting my connection to blizzard games leading me to believe it is a blizzard issue. Spectrum claimed to me that “They (blizzard) have lowered the quality of the connection used for handshaking to a level that will not support modern connectivity” whatever that means.

Temporary workaround

Repeated WOW51900319 Disconnects – Multiple PCs, Retail & MoP Classic, Extensive Troubleshooting Completed

For a temporary workaround not involving a VPN I found utilizing my phone’s hotspot allowed me to connect and remain connected as the location they are routed differs then that of your local ISP (Unless you are going through same provider for both which could be the same, so unfortunately unable to provide information on that for you). Hopefully this can help temporarily rectify the situation for people until such time and it has been addressed and repaired.

A interesting side note, I have ATT fiber and ATT cell service. Fiber is basically unplayable (disconects after 30 secs, can’t interact), but switching my phone to a hotspot, I’m able to get in and interact with the world. I would think at a certain point both would end up going through the same whatever connection layers, but it seems that is less than true.
