PSA: flagging is NOT a downvote button

No it shouldn’t.

I have had a few posts buried on my other account (and restored) and one that was then evenually removed even after being restored (though it wasn’t a violation) and I never lost my trust 3.

That’s as valid point. At the very least, people will call you a White Knight or some failed attempt at a derogatory comment.

Lucky you. I guess blizzard just hates me.

Kay? The same problem of abuse still exists regardless.

And I find what you say odd because you are flagged for beta and everyone who got beta got trust 3 solely on that basis.

So are you sure you actually lost it? You really can’t post links?

Ultimately, if people want something read, they should HOPE it gets flagged. I guarantee it will see twice the views.

mine are always between 1-3 days. they don’t stack. the last one i got was 12 hours. by the time i got up and realized it was supposed to be happening it was over.

I never said I had access to beta. In fact I never got beta. I said I was falsely flagging during the pre-patch to set a time reference of how recent it was.

i am flagged for beta and don’t have t3 though.

No you didn’t say you were flagged for beta, your account does though.

https://prnt.sc/w56vrn

maybe this also has something to do with it. There was discussion in the lounge about people in beta getting trust 3 without earning it. Maybe frequent violators weren’t in that group.

or maybe even this

Well I never got beta access for shadowlands. I am using the beta for the battle.net launcher though.

Plus I had trust level 3 before the beta invites were rolling out.

If only Blizzard weren’t so cloak and dagger about what punishments were doled out to a given person…

A " [USER WAS BANNED FOR THIS POST] " in red appended to a rule breaking post left up for all to see would be pretty cool, not gonna lie.

...

Of course, then that might end up with some people purposefully breaking the rules just to get that red text appended to one of their posts…

my wife got a key from her friend at wowhead and she gave it to me. i used it to log in and check out the male orc customizations before they went onto the ptr and never logged in again.

what makes you think that a post being downvoted is an indication that the post is “wrong”?
i don’t like hairless cats, and i wouldn’t own one, but that doesn’t mean i think they’re “wrong”.

really?
a fear of downvotes?
that’s just comical.
if someone has something to say, and they’re scared of downvotes, then they probably know that it’s something they shouldn’t say to begin with.

and how is abusing the flagging system any different?
it hides the post, and discourages people to post their opinion in the fear of being ACTIONED because people disagree with their opinion.

…downvotes didn’t come with the possibility of being actioned.

(and you know you can still read “hidden” posts, right?)

i’ve ground out T3 on 3 different toons at once, and redid it twice on this toon alone. it’s not a matter of “not earning” T3 because i have. multiple times. i literally lose T3 because of things that aren’t even against the rules but are spam flagged and then they’re not looked at because blizz automates things.

Well other people who were flagged for beta got trust level 3 account wide, i.e. they could post on any character and had trust 3.

Why you don’t I have no idea but I don’t believe for a second you had that many ‘vacations’ and never did anything wrong.

I could add you to discord and explain my history and you would be like 0.o can’t on the forums themselves obviously. The fact they’re all 3 days and not compounding 1 month or longer bans should tell you something though

that fact tells me they can’t be bothered to look at your history, they are just at this stage looking at each post individually. That is the normal state of things.

Blizzard should say who flagged the post.
