PSA: DragonKnight and Dragoon

Wood or bone mech suits would make sense for them I think.

Also, they’re melee.
If we get a new ranged class I’m gonna reroll regardless.

Unless I have to be a Goblin/Vulpera

Gross.

Thing is, in Goblin/Gnome culture, Tinker is synonymous with invention and technology.

Goblins have The Tinker Union in Undermine
Gnomes have New Tinkertown, The Tinker’s Court, and their leaders are called High Tinkers
Mechagnomes have the High Tinkertory, which was the center of their government.

So while some may think the name is silly, it’s stacked with a lot of lore that I don’t see them simply dumping.

No. No more restricting new classes to certain races. All new classes need to be all races. I love the idea of Tinkers and if they are introduced the first one I’ll make is a Mechagnome but but race/class restrictions are BS.

I would think Forsaken would have a shot at Tinker with them being mad scientists and all. And maybe Orcs.

Knowing Blizz, they would probably limit them to Goblin and Gnome though…and it’ll be extremely hilarious/ridiculous having a tech class and no Draenei, the most advanced race in the game that uses spaceships.

Thing is, technology isn’t an integral part of Draenei identity. Their main focus is the light, which is why their primary heroes tend to be Paladins and Priests. They’re also physically powerful, so it would be weird for a Draenei to be running around in a mech suit. I know it happens in lore, but it never really made much sense. To me, it more resembled magical armor that behaved like a machine, not something mechanical like you see out of the Goblins/Gnomes.

Goblin and Gnome heroes however tend to be reliant on technology, which makes sense because they lack physical power, and aren’t as magically inclined as other races. Thus it makes sense for Gnomes and Goblins to have a class dedicated to technology use.

Vulpera can be added to this group too, since they also aren’t physically powerful or magically inclined, which is why they were subjugated by other races. However, they are adaptive and intelligent, so an argument can be made that they also would adopt technology to strengthen themselves. Perhaps going under the wing of the Goblins who are of similar stature.

uhm…what are you talking about?

Class balance is good for the most part. So what are you talking about

An argument could be made that any SV Hunter using a Polearm is a “Dragoon”.

Sorry, not sorry.

“Tinkers” sound weird, can’t we just call them Machinists?

I don’t play FF14, but Dragoon is a classic Final Fantasy job/class so if it’s not popular in 14 then it’s probably due to poor design. I would definitely prefer Tinker though anyway, just feels more WarCraft to me, so I personally am hoping any playable Dragon stuff is just a new race.

Tony Stark (Iron Man) is a tinkerer.
That just has all kinds of potential.

Dragoon is just a hunter with dragons.

Name it Mechanist. Fallout reference.

I will go with not bothering because Tinker/Machinist/Techgnommancer or whatever sound like a waste of developmental resources. We have enough classes that aren’t balanced as it is, we don’t need another class of ANY kind that the hacks at ActiBlizz can’t balance either.

Semper Fi! :us: :ukraine:

No thanks.

I want my Dragons, I want them now
