I never said pre cata. BC and Litch King were the bomb, absolute best ever. but things changed a lot from vanilla to that.
True, but it was still recognizable as World of Warcraft. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the dev team didn't get changed around so much during that era, right? I mean, they still had the same game director and such up until Cataclysm, right?
Or am I wrong?
This is the root of all the problems. The Creators made the game with passion, and recognized the issues and strived to make it better. They wanted everyone to enjoy their creation and it showed in spades. This crew now just goes thru the motions, it almost feels like some of them act like its just another job. They are right we are wrong even tho many of us have probably 20x more time invested into our characters and know what feels right and what doesn't. This is the issue, and I would pay more per month to have those guys back designing this game again. Untill this crew realizes that player input is important to their success this game will continue to slide down hill.
still no reply from the Blues looks like they are using the same strategy they used on the CRZ fiasco. long silence then once the threads died out lock them and pretend everyone loves it. really this has been in live game a week so it will be a couple of months before blizzard sees a drop in subs.
Yes it does, kind of scary.04/05/2017 06:34 AMPosted by Nanooka04/05/2017 01:46 AMPosted by RĂ ger...
Correct, because it is what I would do.
Retallation seems like a better answer for how dumb they are for doing this. I mean it would make more sense than thinking that they are all morons. It will also let me accept this stupid nerf to shard drops as well. So ya, Blizzard is not ran by morons. Just getting all of us back because of all this crying.
Cause its what you would do? ROFL shows just what kind of person you are, no longer surprised at most of your comments.

The man agreed with my assessment that he was an azzhole. It doesn't get much plainer than that, my friend.

I hesitate to make the assessment that there's no passion on the part of the current dev team. From what I've seen, there IS a passion there. Whether it's for the game itself or for the almighty dollar, or some combination of the two, I don't know and cannot say for certain.
What IS certain though is that they're so out of touch with the players it's hilarious. Not even Ghostcrawler was this out of touch -- matter of fact, if I remember correctly, his regular blog posts indicated he was doing everything he could to NOT be out of touch.
These guys are making no such effort, and they made a lawyer the lead game designer.
God each fight DRAGS ON with this change. Really dislike it.
I gear up and raid to be able to blow through mobs. I like that power feeling. Its the reward for grinding hours out in heroic raiding+
With this change its just absurd. Makes you just not want to do crap outside raiding. Please revert.

How many days? How many weeks?
I know development is a slow process, but we've had tank imbalance and other major issues from alpha through 7.2 that have even been acknowledged, at this point, but haven't been changed. Meanwhile, you're tweaking knobs like this one (ilvl) in secret, providing a rushed, ill-conceived "solution" to a "problem."
Like...how was this a priority, but faction/group tagging wasn't? How did invasions go live with so many bugs? Why is there so little actual-new content in 7.2, and why is it so thoroughly gated? Why am I still asking all of these questions when ilvl scaling was rushed in? This is absurd.

04/05/2017 09:39 AMPosted by RĂ gerAll of this might help the power curve some, but does not fix three problems blizzard has said they had with the game.
A) Power scaling and how fast we get it.
B) Low level content being super easy with over power gear.
C) A way to come out with content without needing players coming back to get shortcut gear just to do that content.
Until your ideas can cover all three of the problems Blizzard has. Item level scaling is the answer.
Ilvl scaling of mobs is not the answer but a quicky, lazy, bandaid design Blizzard is using to keep from having to fix the issue properly. They created the power bloat by extreme jumps in item levels between raid tiers. Looking at WotLK, naxx was like 213, Ulduar 226, then ToC at 232 then 245, and Icecrown was 251 to 277, i think was the high end. Ony gave 245. The low level content got bloated when they began the extreme power bloat because using looms in LK was not being OP as it is now.
Blizzard adopted the stance of wanting players to cruise through the lower levels faster to play new content, hence, bloating. Why, who knows, except maybe players were complaining about having to level through over all the levels as it was meant to be played in order to get to the end game expansion content at that time. It's no wonder they came up with character boosts.
To truly fix the problem, Blizzard needs to go back and retune it all. They don't want to do that because of expense, time, etc... whatever their reason so they came up with the bandaid to fix a bullet hole.
Blizzard caused all the problems by doling out power increases like a sugarholic goes after candy. But, they don't want to do what it takes to truly fix the problem because new players might not level through 109 levels to get to end game after buying the latest and "greatest" (sarcasm) expansion. Likewise, returning players don't want to have to do it either. Their hasty rush to make sure everyone got to the latest and greatest had consequences.
Their system needs a major overhaul and retuning on the power and the bloat. That's all on Blizzard. Players had nothing to do with how much power was dealt out. They need to stop using bandaids and actually fix the problem they themselves created.
I have a problem with Blizzard creating the issue then almost having the stance that players created it; all the while, giving a bandaid as the only solution when the real solution is one they don't want to do. Paying customers should not get quicky, lazy, bandaid designs just because someone doesn't want to take the amount of time and energy it would take to rectify the problem they created.
:( I don't have many words to say.
I'm just disappointed in Blizzard.

Almost makes you miss Ghostcrawler, doesn't it? At least he'd talk to us. Mind you, people repaid him for that by being vicious...
Come on, Blizzard. Can we at least have some acknowledgment, some hint that someone in Irvine is listening to us (beyond the fact that this thread hasn't been locked or deleted)?

Me also. I can not believe how much of a ghost town the invasion was last night at 12AM Eastern. I mean there was noone. What new WQ's that popped up on the shore were vacant of players also. So this tells me that the players do NOT LIKE 7.2 and i for one HATE the scaling. Even more i hate the other faction tagging the heck out of all the portals i either put up or extend. I mean 2 players(shammys really with that shock looking crap that tags everything in sight. Even with BARRAGE i can not get tags. The ONLY thing i get is 10,000 imps all over me and killing me 10 times costing me a small fortune every time i try to farm shards.
It has come to a point where i do not do anything but the WQs on the shore(with the insanely fast spawn times) and leave until the next day.
Todays invasion was a BUST!!! You did not get credit at the end. I had to go to Highmountain, get off at the falls, go across the lake and ask the chick for the wings and glide to the end of the bridge at Blackrook Hold and drop down to the platform where Jarod was so i could do the scenario TWO more times to get credit.
THAT is a shame. Please take the Ilvl scaling AWAY, you extended the thread, i am sure you are watching other sites, players by a far margin hate it and would like the SNEAKY thing go away! I just can not believe how underhandedly they put this in, i have more faith in EA now.

More than that, you have to stop playing. Let's not pretend we all don't know plenty will quit and re-enable when the time comes. Not everyone, but we all know many will.
If you don't like changes, stop playing.
Not just quit. Don't sit there and go "I have to get my money's worth!". Why would you want to if you're not having fun anyways?
Just stop. Make their statistics actually go down.
they stopped releasing sub numbers because subs kept going down. as of last October they were 5.5 million which is less than half of what it was during wrath I believe. but blizzard replaced the dev team moving them to other projects. since then it has been a fiasco. Mob item level scaling is just a terrible idea and needs to removed. CRZ, pathfinder, level scaling zones and now mob item level scaling. these are ruining the game. I have 9 days on the first of the subs to go dark. by August I will be completely out of the game.
my accounts have been unlocked so i have edited this post up until this morning several of my accounts were locked with time remaining.
Thanks for letting us know that the locking was a glitch for sure. THAT was very worrying if it was intentional.

Their reason back in September 2016 for NEVER doing ilvl scaling in ALL of the world was because you were suppose to be stronger and if they did ilvl scaling then that would be taken away. Their answer was to MAKE MORE CONTENT instead of EVER putting in Ilvl WORLD scaling!
Keep your word blizz! Take the scaling AWAY!! Anything beyond going back to Broken Isles zones scaling should be reverted asap!

Even IF that number were true, this game turned into a total ghost town after October. Right now, from in game play for 8 hours a day , all hours, the zones, the Shore, and even the invasions are void of players. The game is in real trouble and that is not just an opinion. Have not had a Q on any of my Highest pop realms in NA for so long i can not remember the last time there was one.
Sorry for off topic again. My bad.
In my long history of playing (almost 10 years), has a single patch been able to completely reverse my demeanor about the game. Frankly, I have gone from optimistic and excited to un-subbing last night. If they reverse this change, maybe I will be back, but the longer I don't play, the greater chance of not coming back.
No word from the Blues yet?
Anyone know what the patch is that is downloading for me as we speak?
