Day 1 patch content should be trivial ? Seems like a pretty huge waste of resources to make the broken shore when it's not worth doing for a chunk of players
Another thing I may add, regarding your question earlier, is as far as the Broken Shore content goes, whenever new zones are released through patches (Thunder Isle, Timeless Isle, Tanaan) those mobs were always more difficult than the content that preceded it anyway.
If you want to look at a huge waste of resources, look at the micro-holidays that have no incentive to participate in that I never see anyone at. ;)

Many of the people on that particular poll voted "I don't care/it doesn't affect me." and of course it doesn't. Most of them aren't actually playing.
Sweet assumptions, bud.
If someone feels differently than you it must because they don't actually play at all.
Either scaling is working as it is supposed to, and your DPS hasn't gone up as you claim, or scaling isn't working.
DPS done is completely independent of the mob.

I like just wiping !@#$ out. I don't want every single mob to take the same rotation.
We still are wiping !@#$ out though. We don't need to be 1 shotting everything. You may find that fun but I don't.

Dunno what to tell you bro, fact is that's the way it's been for a decade+. Like i said, if you need to be challenged by a world mob, switch gear so you can feel challenged. Don't force that on others.

Of course the experience should be different. However, without scaling and even with to an extent, the difference is actually using your spells vs literal 1 shots on 3 mobs at a time. That's just ridiculous. I put some time into my character so now when I do patch day fresh off the presses content I should be 1 shorting mobs as I run through with my brain turned off? That seems ridiculous. Even at 870, which is pretty average right now, the same stuff that an 800 character would be doing would be utterly trivial, so the broken shore would just be boring.
I just realized, we may be talking about two different situations. I am referring to doing world quests in tired old content we have beaten to death since launch of Legion, not the new content just released. To be honest, I think the broken shores are boring with or without item level scaling. I am almost absolutely sure that this will change when those towers go up and they actually
put out content.
I'm not sure anyone was one shotting mobs, save imp swarms, on the Broken Shores anyway.
Alright, so we have a state of the game where a system is now in place with the explicit purpose of slowing down the rate at which mobs are killed. According to you, this is working just fine. Also according to you, you're now killing mobs faster than without this system. Just a reminder:
No... I said I was still killing things faster than when my gear was worse. I have also received upgrades since Tuesday, and have seen my dps number grow.
These statements contradict. Either scaling is working as it is supposed to, and your DPS hasn't gone up as you claim, or scaling isn't working. This is a problem for your position.

Scaling doesn't affect DPS or character output, at all... holy carp are you really going to try and make that argument?
We still are wiping !@#$ out though. We don't need to be 1 shotting everything. You may find that fun but I don't.
Swap to lower gear if you need that kind of fun, stop trying to make others play the game you want.

The only reason I mentioned it is because you do not need a battle.net or World of Warcraft account to participate on those forums, whereas you do here.
Like I said. Compromised data should not be used. Period!

I'd prefer mobs that are legitimately challenging as opposed to just slapping more health/damage to a bear that, last week, had always remained at the same health and damage output. Even if they tuned down the changes from 7.2 launch, the scaling is still there and is not the answer if you want to extend content, or "breath new life" into content we've been doing since launch of Legion.
I would too, but that comes back to the ilvl inflation problem. When progression from a fresh 110 means going up nearly 100 ilvls, what's a legitimately challenging mob one day is nothing the next week. Literally the only solution to keeping relative mobs challenging for long enough is scaling, or just fix the inflation problem. It's like like looking at some nice scenery from the window of a Bullet train, "ooh that's nice aaand it's gone".
What is it about increased time that makes it challenging or keeps it relevant?
Mobs are not hitting harder and at your ilvl you prob take almost no damage. The only thing this scaling has done is increase your time investment in content that you have previously done.
The world quests for you are all but irrelevant unless you are grinding out some resourses, AP or hoping for that RNG titan upgrade with the right RNG stats. Say you love just doing the world quests, does the fun go up the longer they take?
My war from 850 to 855 mobs health went up 31k hp plus. Even more on the elites and some of the weird mobs that just take forever to kill. That health hasn't made the content more challenging in a sense of skill, relevant, fun or rewarding. All it does is add time to what I want to accomplish for that play period.

Yeah, I bet huge numbers of people on MMOC's WoW page don't play and have in fact never had a WoW account.
They must have heard that there was a poll to take and they all rushed over from CoD and real life to throw in their 2cp. Totes makes sense.

Hardly, the zones were still designed so that newly capped/lowgeared players could do them. Timeless Isle and Tanaan screwed gearly really badly and just contributes to further gear inflation

Actually DPS and time to kill mobs are two completely different things. Unless your legendary got nerfed, DPS should have gone up since Tuesday, we received flat boosts from new artifact traits.

I should have to play worse to not be bored? Thats pretty lousy game design.
And in the past there was other content that wasnt blown through immediately. Sure Isle of Quel'danas might not have been super challenging, but you still had all of sunwell as well as previous TBC raids to munch through. Now we have LFR and outgear old raids in the blink of an eye. Isle of Thunder was super timegated which you may have noticed isnt really popular right now. Tanaan was just worthless, you could outgear it in an instant on Ashran and were left with just HFC or unsub.

That is literally what people are attempting to do in these threads and telling people to take off their gear is an asinine suggestion..
Well first and foremost, I'd like to thank the trolls for their bumpage. They are a persistent bunch.
I'm going to move on with my day, possibly pop in later. Have fun peeps.

MMO-Champ's isn't just WoW players. You do know that, right? You also know that their forums are not censored and that their members are typically far more volatile than anyone here? Including yourself?
If there is a poll option, I am sure most people would be inclined to click it. I wonder what the results would have yielded if one of the options was "This doesn't bother me because I don't play WoW."
I wonder what the results would have yielded if a similar poll was available on these forums.

It absolutely does effect deaths per second, you can't prove otherwise because it is the sole purpose of the mechanics existance.
...See what I did thar?
I need to pull carefully now like I was ilvl 815
Really? I'm still running around under the Sentiax thing dotting everything in sight as mobs tickle my feathers. I even occasionally get to use a Full Moon cast on non elites without them dying two seconds into the cast because they have such little health.

Shamans are squishy, but I still take decent damage when I pull more than 4-5 mobs. I just want to feel like I'm actually doing something when I do WQs. You call them trivial, well they feel even more trivial when I have to do them and aren't getting any enjoyment out of them. If you're SO worried about a few minutes lost a day then maybe there's other priorities to bother with. I promise you aren't losing much time due to scaling. And I'm still willing to be proven wrong on that statement.
No I'm dying in world quests where i never died before 7.2
I need to pull carefully now like I was ilvl 815
Show me. I watched people kill mobs when I was testing the numbers the other day, including hunters, none of them had problems.

Sure. Instead of 4 deaths per second there's 3.7 deaths per second.

MMO-C is almost entirely WoW players and almost only focuses on WoW. Look at their forums, its about 50% WoW 50% ALL OTHER GAMES/POLITICS/OFFTOPIC/COMPUTERHELP. And the people who are going to be on the WoW subforums are going to be primarily WoW players
its a WoW site. Youre grasping at straws here.
