That's why I said given Blizzard's history. Specifically Pathfinder, CRZ and level scaling. Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it. By ignoring Blizzard's recent track record of implementing unpopular features, offering a "compromise" to pacify the players and then breaking that compromise later, I think you are being very short sighted about this change.
Here are my examples. The Pathfinder "compromise" got turned into Pathfinder Part Two. Which is exactly what many of us predicted would happen. The Pathfinder meta will become ever more tedious in each new expac.
The CRZ "compromise" was that it would not be used in current content. It is now being used in current content.
The level scaling "compromise" was that they would not do ilvl scaling. They are now using ilvl scaling.
All three of those feature serve the same purpose. To throw up roadblocks and slow the player down. If you think they won't keep tinkering with ilvl scaling to slow players down, you haven't been paying attention.
Ultimately, the results of all of those things is a better game, imo. I dont think blizzard should be tied down to "promises" if they keep them from making the game better.
Woah...woah there cowboy.
They shouldn't be held to promises? Thats just basic business (and personal) ethics right there. Everyone should be held accountable - authority figures (They are authorities on WoW) should be held twice as hard.
