Prot Warrior Execute Damage Bugged Never Got 30% Hotfix Applied (Tool Tip Right)

On November 28 there was a set of Hotfixes applied below

  • Protection
    • Fixed an issue that prevented Unnerving Focus from affecting several abilities.
    • Brace for Impact’s tooltip clarified to state it increases block value rather than percentage amount blocked.
    • Enduring Alacrity now correctly modifies your Armor.
    • Focused Vigor now correctly modifies your Armor.
    • [With weekly restarts] Execute damage increased by 30%.

Execute damage has felt off and was looking at the tool tip which has applied the 30% damage increase. However the actual damage hasn’t been applied. I noticed this when testing various talents and damage and for some reason there was a large discrepancy in damage almost 50%.

Then remember that there was this Execute Buff. Which makes sense.

Tool tip execute - 41,519
actual dummy damage - 28,848 (way off)

If we take 28,848 x 30% = 37,502 (correct and accounts for mitigation)

So the damage should be 30% higher and only the tool tip is correct.

Bump please fix.

Target dummies, and basically all mobs, have 30% damage reduction from armor.

Ok something is still wildly off. These are 40 rage Executes.

Just had a regular execute crit for less than the tool tip. Then a non crit execute hit for 20,378. That is more than 100% difference than tool tip.

Edit - some more testing so 20 rage executes hitting for 18-20k when tool tip is 41k?

tooltip value is a 40 rage execute against 0 damage reduction. at 20 rage, the damage will be half of the tooltip against 0 damage reduction. Tooltipping at 41,519, the expected damage of a flat 20 rage execute on a target dummy would be 14,531

If that is true then it’s not worth pressing Execute. Should just remove it from the bar. Hard to imagine a 30% buff gave us 14k execute? If it was 114k that would be acceptable. The Devs gotta take a look at this again otherwise no point in using any of the execute talents.
