If you’re gonna use the Flag of Ownership, please ensure you’re not winning with a 2v1 or 3v1 advantage while using a FOTM class, its only reserved for 1v1s or displays of skill. It looks dumb when you use it with an advantage and lessens its meaning.
be kinda funny if the flag detects a unfair advantage and is like

I dislike it’s use in general, as it is pretty obviously just meant to be a clear sign of disrespect and insult, there’s really no way around it. I only ever use it when killing ppl in the open world that jump me first, or to someone who smack-talked me/was just being rude to others. Any other time it feels unwarranted.
I watched some survival hunter who makes guides on youtube and the weirdo literally flagged every single kill no matter what. At that point it really does come across as almost pathetic and desperate.
look who’s triggered
Someone got owned.
They took away /spit because it hurt people’s feeling but left the flag of ownership in the game because people purchased the item in the shop. Now the flag of ownership is yesterday’s /spit.
Welcome to PvP.
They actually come from trading card game. But yeah pretty much the same reasoning. Blizz has been given money for this item it would be a hard sell to rip it back out of people’s hands after taking their money.
Which is good IMO. I think it was also dumb they took away /spit for the record. Not that I often used it but they shouldn’t have removed it I don’t think, people who were offended already had a tool to stop seeing it, /ignore them. Though I do wonder how much of that was because of the degenerate things done with the emote in Goldshire more-so than anything PvP related.
Flag was always better than /spit, it’s just harder/more expensive to obtain so not everyone had it.
I see flag usage kinda like cursing. If done occasionally and within proper context it can add emphasis and flavor to your words. If every other word is a curse word always in every conversation, then it just becomes a cringe edge-lord thing.
Mad you got called out huh? I don’t blame you, it probably doesn’t feel too good. Cheer up sport, I’m sure you’ll get at least one killing blow eventually and you can finally plant your epic gamer mode flag with pride.
Triggered much?
I always take 5 minutes to cry when someone drops the flag on my dead body.

triggered bro?
Use it on every Horde Boomie and MM reroller.
That’s the best use.
Good morning.
I don’t think i’ve EVER seen it used outside of this context.
It’s all psychological damage. To be used at the most infuriating moment possible so people would feel like they have to make a forum post about. You better believe whoever caused this one (if they check the forums) has already screenshotted this and shown their friends.

If you’re dying to a boomkin in PvP, you either don’t know what CC or interrupts are, or are just plain bad.
I usually don’t use the flag of ownership unless one of the following conditions is met:
- I am roleplaying an evil character.
- Someone who had previously ganked me or was some kind of cheap tactics I was finally able to defeat.
- For whatever reason I really don’t like the person I just defeated.
Most of the time people don’t fall into this criteria. And all of the characters I use in pvp I don’t treat as evil. Morally grey at most. Even my warlock, rogue and death knight.
I use it on CD literally because of people like you who make a forum post to cry about it. Makes me want to use it even more. Every person I kill gets the flag.
And the funny part is that it triggers people so much that they trash talk themselves (cursing, using pejoratives, telling me to kill myself, etc.) easily into a report. That’s the cherry on top. They get a flag + a silent ban while I just sit there and laugh at them. I don’t feel bad at all. They do it to themselves.
I also use the Elixir of Tongues so I can see what Horde says so I can report them too.
In a way, I am making the game better by not tolerating the behavior that goes against the ToS. So everyone, you are welcome. ![]()
