Agreed with this. Wasn’t hard for me to stop playing League when they introduced Vanguard, it will be even simpler to unsubscribe and stop playing WoW if Warden ever goes kernel-level.
Everyone wants to be a hacker these days. I’m going to start calling you all Acid Burn, or Crash Override.
those pvp addons are safe right?
(tbh when i use BGE and Weiz together, i sometimes think its too much)
Because Microsoft is encouraging devs to not use it anymore since the CrowdStrike incident…
Also, kernel level anti cheat are invasive af
This explains the influx of ‘wrongly banned’ posts in the CS forums. Looking forward to many more.
Down with cheaters.
yawn if they really cared they’d ip ban them so they cant just purchase the game and its expansions and do it all again, thatd hurt profits though. basically just tellin them to be ready to pay them money whenever they get ‘banned’
99% of the third party software usage will go away if your developers did their job and updated spell visuals with the already existing in-game assets that are only used by NPCs instead of being made available to players. Some skills haven’t been updated even once since being first introduced, like Arcane Orb, which still uses its original more than a decade old WoD-era VFX even though the updated one has been around since BfA and is even used in Plunderstorm events.
The same thing goes for third party addons. These things only exist to fill the voids you’ve left in the game.
ya you might get banned in 5 months if you use em
It’s much harder to go after people for that who are outside of US jurisdiction.
Addons are safe they use the API. It would have to be something else.
So are addons like weakauras and DBM banned now??
No, those are not attempting to bypass the security of the client.
They run entirely within the sandbox blizzard provides for them to run in.
Can we actually address pvp? You have let 50% of gladiator teams utilize cheats and different things for years and only given 6month bans. Just look at the impossible to miss kick macro that was being used by r1’s secretly for years that went ignored until a social media movement last year. You don’t need chest detection to see them landing 100% and never missing.
Right? So many “top” players just have multiple accounts for this exact reason. It’s temporary bans and they don’t take away achievements, rating, gear, or gold.
Then 70% of streamers would be screwed. Almost every streamer has gotten a temp ban and tried to blame farming/account share when true players know it’s other things.
Ok thanks. Phew.. scared me for a sec ![]()
As others have pointed out, the TSM addon uses a Blizzard-approved interface and is therefore allowed.
The TSM addon helper is a third-party utility that writes a text data file on your computer. It does not access the WoW client’s memory or do anything to control the game. So in my opinion it would not violate the TOS.
If blizzard didn’t like something an addon running in their sandbox does, they won’t ban people for using it.
They’ll just find a way to break that functionality that they don’t like.
yeah i have been running on epic battleground with these 2 alliance character all the time and we lose
What about second party? Or fourth party? Are those ok? I’m going to assume “Yes”.
