I just did Heroic Mechagon: Workshop, trying to get the Progression Sprockets needed for Rank 3 of Vision of Perfection. We managed to down King Mechagon, but the Progression Sprocket didn’t drop. I got the items for the last two ranks (Rank 1 itself, and the blueprint for Rank 2) off of Heroic, and even got the first Progression Sprocket, but the next one didn’t drop off of this kill.
Was this changed recently? Or is it not a 100% drop on Heroic?
The comments on the WoWhead page seem to imply this.
I ran nothing but Heroic Workshops for my Progression Sprockets. It took 15 runs to get 4. Definitely not a 100% drop.
If you want 100%, run Mythic 0, which guarantees 1 (or 2 if you run “hard mode”, whatever that is). But that’s a weekly lockout, so spamming Heroic may still be faster. (Apparently, there’s no restriction on queueing for it over and over in a single day.)
Makes me wonder why it was changed specifically for Heroic. They could have easily kept the 100% drop, while keeping the standard “once per day” lockout of Heroics.
Because with the random dungeon finder you could theoretically do it constantly and get more than intended.
