Professions still aren't that good

oh your fine, you didn’t derail it that bad and I thought it was fun with all the puns :stuck_out_tongue:

I would like if professions were presented more as engaging content rather than an extra hoop for raid readiness. That can be accomplished without carving the raid readiness and AH implications out of it, though, just to be clear.

Do you know that less than 0.03% of the WoW player base knows most rank 4 recipes. If you were to toss a rock you would be more likely to bounce it off the head of a world 100 ranker raider than a tier 4 crafter.

Shadowlands has the most unfriendly time consuming crafting system to date in retail.

45 fish to make one feast.
6 herbs to make ONE pre-pot, and keep in mind herbs come from mixed zones separated by void that you have to use flight masters to get too.
Flasks that use same herbs in retarded amounts
Most expensive crafting system that costs 150-250k to level up to rank 4 leggo armor slots. Most of that cost is vendor mats orboreal shards at 125g each.

You wanna know why people sell boosts, it’s to cover the costs of the terrible crafting systems.

Do you want farm 4 to 6 hours to support only One week of raiding.

Or…

Spend 1 hour every month running some guy through a key and get enough gold to never have to farm at all.

If you reform professions you can kill or minimize boosting. There is a reason mythic raiding guilds need massive gold war chests every patch cycle.

Some insight on how rare rank 4 crafters

Good catch up gear on professions is a good idea. That stuff is always in demand

i maxed some of the items. the ones profitable to sell.

I maxed out several cloth recipes too. Huge gold sink but I made my money back and then some.

And profession reform is a big must.

I like how crafted items worked in previous expansions. The mats weren’t necessarily easy to obtain, but the items were good and you couldn’t just get a really good item crafted for every slot.

First aid too!

I’m thinking about maxing out the rank 4 rings, given those tend to be the most expensive, yet the major cost barrier issue is the fact that those shards are stupid expensive, and with exalted with any vendor that sells them would still cost 75k in total just to buy all the shards you need to go from rank 1-4. This is literally why I quit tailoring at the start of the expansion, the barrier is just way too high. Like the literal only way I will EVER be able to rank it out is going to be spending hours upon hours of ore grinding, just because the essences are super expensive as well.

I see why no one picked up JC, as the grind for the essences is just unreal with the fact that even with mass prospecting the ores that have a higher chance to drop the essence, your not guaranteed to get one, which is just bad all around. Like I feel like I’m going to have to prospect thousands upon thousands of ore, just to get the 750 of one essence type I need. Along with grinding out even more ore just to make the bars required, which thankfully isn’t the worst part of this, yet will be simply time consuming given I only want to throw gold at the vendor mats, the rest I simply have to grind cause I can’t just buy tokens whenever I want at this point in time.
