Professions are now a big goldsink and waste of time, GG Blizz

Tailoring is fine … there were no issues with that.

I just spend 20k gold to get 5 levels from those boot enchants, the resultant enchant sells for 5g on the AH.

After that …

I specialised into chest/ring enchants.

Current cheapest rank I have are Burning Devotion and Sophic devotion:

Each requires:
5 x shard = 150g
4 x crystal = 10k g
4 x awakened order = 6k g
3 x titan orb = 4k g

I don’t have the required 20k gold per point to spend on that.

If they hadn’t nerfed DEing of epics - I’d likely be able to get enough to do it, but given most epics now DE to blues, not epics it is impossible.

In what world is 20 vibrant shards, 5 awakened air, and 5 awakened earth for plainsrunner’s breeze a 20k investment? it’s like 6k max for 5 levels. And you don’t have to get past 75 long term anyway. They acknowledged that having a 100 skill requirement wasn’t a good idea. It’s fixed in 10.0.5, which is coming soon™. Problem noticed, problem fixed.

The world of warcraft - I looked up the prices on the AH as I typed (please read ALL of my post).

You said you’re 70 so you’re just trying to get to 75, since that will unlock the last spec once 10.0.5 hits. 70-75 can be done in approximately 5-6 crafts of the plainsrunner’s breeze enchant. This enchant costs 4 Vibrant Shards, 1 awakened earth, and 1 awakened air per craft. Since these mats are commodities, they are subject to the region wide AH. This means that their price will be the same on your server as it is on mine.

20 x 31 = 620
5 * 393 = 1965
415 * 5 = 2075

620 + 1965 + 2075 = 4660

*100 … my apologies if you are Doctor Who and calling from the future where 10.0.5 is released.

I’m commenting on the state of the game now, as released and the issues with it.

Hope that helps clarify your error.

I like the system but again, they went full Blizzard on the time gating of it and it’s massively punishing and limiting.

They never learn. It’s utterly unreal, they genuinely think they can still bully people into playing exactly how they want.

I’m OK with playing lots just lemme progress without brick walls, traps and being forced into other content…

Man this expansion felt so good and now I’m literally already looking at a certain games upcoming content patch this week. I just don’t have motiviation to play when I feel like someone is constantly pumping the brakes on me.

It seems kind of pointless arguing over the state of leveling to 100 being too hard when Blizzard is going to fix it anyway. I’m also in the same boat where I had my enchanting skill hard stuck at 90 for the first month, and getting enchanting from 90-100 back when titan orbs were 10k was a pretty ridiculous level of investment and it seems like Blizzard agreed with that. Pretty happy to see the change to make it 75 because that’s much more reasonable to achieve and shouldn’t hard block any professions.

mining and herbal are the less of the bunch way to go.

Rude. Not really when millions of people like me don’t spend a dime to play and pay with gold which is time. It used to be very little time spent to make enough for a token, blizzard has found a way to take the perk and turn it into a job, hence requiring me to resub with real money. They make money off those that buy tokens, and subs. They want people paying for their sub with cash, not gold. Both subs and tokens are profit for them…don’t you think they would rather see everyone paying for their sub with cash, and also having to buy tokens just to support their gameplay? They want both.

Oh dont get me wrong… I like it… It just feels more like Im still beta testing it since they swung the pendulum hard again and managed to once again mess up their idea. It feels like a job instead actual crafting.

And yeah I agree… At first df had my interest but really noping out fast.

Assuming you can buy the enchant plans at Renown 8 on your enchanter, which as I see it, on an alt not possible atm.

They should make renown and account wide unlock, then maybe professions could actually get somewhere…

You get +200% bonus rep on alts up to 10. I specifically mentioned the centaur rep because it’s incredibly easy to farm with the hunts that go on 24/7

You get +100% if your main is over 10, +200% if your main is over 20. For people with lives this is still a high bar. Eventually yes, all marks can be reached.

I keep hearing hunts give good Centaur rep. I just did 3. First two never registered that I was there even though I talked to the Scout, my Bakar appeared, I helped complete the tasks and kill the final boss. Nada. No rep, no loot. The third I had to complete entirely by myself. It took 30 minutes. I made 180 rep, 15 for each of the 6 stages and a handful of trophies in the loot bag.

So I guess this is maybe yet another thing that was great in the first couple weeks but has been nerfed to oblivion now.

Step 1: Join group finder, it’s 5-ish minutes per hunt

200% for alt to get to renown 10, then down to 100% to renown 20.
Getting to renown 20 has really killed my will to even bother so after 15 or so renown across the board I just went on to alts and even that felt slow after the weekly rep thing. Really for some reason dislike it this time around. Legion and even BFA rep wise was tolerable. I feel they should drop rep tokens at bigger chunks more frequently, at least it’d feel good.

IF you have one character at 20+, this is true. If one character 10+ but less than 20, it’s only 100% extra for an alt.

Yup that is what was mentioned earlier and I was just writing how that worked.

TBH, it seems more simple to actually learn leatherworking, IRL, than in WoW.

I hate to pick on the devs, but this all feels wrong. If I want to be a LW in the game, I have to gain rep with some anomalous faction. Why not just have a LW guild in the game that we gain rep with and work for? Why does it have to involve completely unrelated tasks to obtain patterns that I don’t even want? It’s clear to me that the people who designed this have never really considered the application of time/energy can feel more or less rewarding based on the associated activities. Sorry, Blizz, but you dropped the ball on a promising change.

Hahaha probably

All I want is to be able to get my enchants, flask and potions and do raids and m+. Now to compete with people you need to drop 100k or more on just those. Toss in probably another 50k at least for crafted gear and this is the first patch. The game is more pay to win then its ever been
