Probably an unpopular opinion

The upcoming changes are meant to address these things but I’m not expecting them to have any real impact. It will go one of two ways. They will either be insanely overtuned to the point people stop queueing, or nothing changes. Blizzard doesn’t do middle grounds.

Touché, friend. Touché.

You do the same thing for Timewalking.

Except you can actually fail.

lmao.

Play a class that can tank then if you care that much about the dungeon pace. You aren’t entitled to set it otherwise.

I have learned to NOT loot anything except the bosses. That is the only way I can keep up. It hurts to run past all that stuff sparkling on the ground, but if I stop to loot I will be left behind in a heartbeat.

Oh don’t worry, you’ll get what you’re asking for very soon.

… And when you do, and your queue times are even higher than they were before and queues rarely pop, only then will you understand.

This is exactly what I plan to do as a tank. Queues are going to get a LOT longer. Oh well ^.^

do you mean that timewalking is now a lot harder than what 'twas before?

I stopped doing PUG dungeons because of the speed issue. Timewalkers totally got ruined in the last couple of patches. We drove everybody out of mythics and didn’t learn anything and then drove everybody out of timewalking.

I reckon it wont reach the idealic wow till only the Devs are left playing by themselves.

I can’t disagree. I like the whole idea that there is no stopping to click on mobs/loot since people are impatient. The system could just tally it all up, all greens, purples, blues, gold, grays and click the chest and done.

stop being trash. you only get agro by generating threat no? so stop attacking until the tank is set…

hmmm maybe to play with your friends doing keys and raids? leveling fast doesn’t equal closing the game.

First, if the boss dropped any loot for you it is mailed. Second, you are not locked out of the content or the quest for the week. You can pick up the quest in your adventure journal.

Lastly timewalking is currently the fastest way to level. The vast majority of people want to level fast. They are no place to learn to play or enjoy old contenet or any of that. They are to level fast. If you want it to slow down you have to take gear out of it. Make your own group of levelers or find a guild of like minded people that enjoy leveling

There’s no universe where a fast run is equivalent to griefing. We’ve done these dungeons hundreds of times. There’s absolutely no reason to stop and smell the roses anymore, especially in dungeons that are over 15 years old. It’s meaningless content, the rewards are likewise meaningless, unless you’re a collector of transmogs/mounts. In which case, I’d prefer runs to be over faster even more. The costs for mounts for timewalking badges are a little extreme.

And to approach the ilevel thing, this character is 679. I dip into normals/heroics/lfr for bribe bags on occasion, or for the case of this week, to make up for renown track I missed from not making our raid nights. I’m not going to sit there and scoff at other people for not doing the healing I do when they’re in gear from those tiers. It doesn’t matter. I’m just there for the bag or the renown, not to show off my epeen.

Yeah that’s kinda on the new-ish side which is why we keep having threads like this of players saying they hate it, and players saying they love it.

Sadly, no one knows who is technically right because we do not know the thoughts of all players in game since these forums do not represent all players, not even a lil

If players cannot keep up with the tank due to whatever reasons, and then the player is kicked for it, that’s griefing IMO

That’s another discussion but I’m also calling into question having so many difficulty tiers. At this point, isn’t Heroic just Mythic-1? And Normal just Mythic-2?

I like the scaling difficulty thing but the entire system - like many others - needs a new coat of paint to make it feel cohesive.

I am entitled to the loot from the dungeon I completed.

Different rant, but the reason I don’t play tank isn’t because it’s hard or intimidating. Quite the contrary, I would love it, but they made every single tank spec with spammable spells that feel so unrewarding to play. It’s nothing more than a proc whack-a-mole with 10 different defensive spells on the side that basically all do the same thing - reduce incoming damage. There are like 1.5 tank specs in the game I like. In comparison, there are 16 DPS specs in the game I enjoy playing. In an effort to make tanks so easy and bring people into the role, they’re driving me away from it, and I doubt I’m the only person in that situation.

Give me a healer bard spec on my rogue or a tank demonform spec on my warlock (akin to pre-Legion) and I’ll be a happy man.

That would quite literally mean not hitting anything the entire dungeon because by the time I catch up to the demon hunter and his 1 billion dashes everything is already dead. Not saying you’re wrong, just that this would be the result.

Only if you looted the corpse, which I couldn’t.

I’m not talking about the “run 5 dungeons” quest, I’m talking about the “bring this item to a guy” quest you get from defeating the last boss.

If leveling is not an important part of the game and we’re meant to rush it as fast as possible, then just remove it from the game. If leveling is an important part of the game, then don’t make it so we can blast through it.

Well I’d have to ask the same exact question - why do we have to play by your rules? What makes a slower speed superior to fun?

There is no rule in the TOS that says the group can’t go fast but if 1 player does not want to everyone must go at the slower speed or you’ll get a “demerit”. If you don’t like the speed, you can:

  1. create your own group and dictate the rules
  2. run with your friends
  3. run with your guild
  4. advertise in “other” in looking for w/“chill non-speed run timewalking”
  5. drop the group
  6. don’t participate.
  7. run solo
  8. stay w/the group and not worry about it
  9. stay w/the group and then come to the forums to whine.

Many many options here.

For real. When I tank I get everyone else even the healer pulling things to me bc I go slow. AND I only go slow bc when I was going fast I’d get yelled at for leaving them behind, n momd you, I was on a BDK with only one speed boost (I didn’t feel like taking the other talent)
There’s just no pleasing everyone.
Side note, I’ve never cared if others pull, it’s not hard to pick up mobs, or not enough to waste effort getting mad about it.

I mean you got options, if your lvling in TW you can lvl somewhere else if its too fast, most people are there for fast lvls and the mount

Dps nuking stuff while tank is gathering episode

But there is, or at least should be, a rule against preventing a player from looting what they’re entitled to. It’s not a matter of not wanting to go fast, it’s a matter of, factually, not being able to go as fast as the demon hunter.
