You know that mythic dungeons give 400 gear? No reason to farm pearls aside from buying the essences
I had some luck from those guys people said to kill too, the brown rock elemental dudes? Forget the name. Oh, Lost Algans/wayward algan.
Some people thought there was a nerf, but evidently either can only drop them once per day (triggers a secret “daily.”) This explains a lot:

They can only drop pearls once per day. When you get pearls from a Lost Algan, it triggers a hidden daily tracking quest with ID 56916. You can check whether or not you’ve done it with this script: /dump IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(56916)
Note that Wayward Algans trigger a different hidden tracking quest, so you can get pearls once per day from both.
Evidently it wasn’t always like that, so this was what people said to farm initially.
I never knew about that script, to check if you’ve already killed them.

I feel like they have stealth nerfed the amount of pearls we were able to get in a day . I am seeing far fewer this week then previous
Same with Me, I got about 8 today, maybe 10 yesterday , and very very rarely and i getting any pearls from rares or chests .

The daily quest/requisition quest rewards appear to be RNG so some days you will get pearls and some days you will get resources or other junk. I often run 6 characters through there and some get a lot more pearls on a given day than the others do.
I got like 10+ from two WQs alone. Not even counting dailies/rares.
You aren’t meant to full benthic 425 gear in a week. Its meant to be a 1-2 month long progression system.
I think there might have been a stealth nerf. I went from getting 25-30 a day to only 10-15 a day during the past week. Pump those metrics, Blizz. Turd sandwich.

Really not hard to get these. Just kill a few rares a day.
I average 15 to 20 per day.
Scrying stones are no good any more unless you want a few murloc currencies. I opened around forty chests the other day and not a single one dropped any pearls at all.

The rate is low, but not that low. Doing the ‘Naz rounds’ = 2-3 days to get 50 mp = 2 upgrades (415 to 420) per week.
Now I’m working on upgrading benthic azerite gear to 430 … from 385. That’s 420 mp. I’m figuring about 4-6 weeks to get one done. Sure, I’d like this to go faster, but then this isn’t meant to be done in a few days, and it’s still at least a year before the next expansion.
As the song says, Time is on my side. Yes, it is.
I have noticed that the reward is not the same on all characters. Some days, one of my characters gets 3 daily quests for MPs, but the other 3 get only 1 quest or none. I usually have one lucky character per day.
