Priest toolkit is weird

So i’m trying to level this priest and feel like im missing a lot of basic tools to crawl through dungeons. Like no prayer of bouncy bouncy heal and no renew feels weird. Im spamming my face off flash and its super unsatisfying.

Meanwhile i have 1823981689612651625986198625 1.5 - 3 minute cooldowns clogging up my bars.

I feel generally positive about a lot of the changes going into midnight, but when it comes to ability pruning they always seem to really flub it in a way that makes me feel like half the class fantasy evaporated :-/

This is a big miss for me.

No idea what you are talking about, but if it’s PoM it’s still in the game.

Sounds like you need to spend some more time reading the wowhead guide for holy priest. The whole point is you have long CD spells that aren’t as long as they look because of CDR.

If holy’s not up your alley try discipline. Based off the reasons for your complaints it seems like you might actually like it more. Your most important cd realistically is a 15 sec cd with two charges for aoe healing. Shadow word pain becomes your regen and penance is your hot/dot spreader. You got a couple high cd abilities like uppies and evangies but those really are just oh crap buttons in 90% of content. Instead of spamming flash its a more dynamic rotation between smite, penance, plea, flash, and radiance so you might genuinely have more fun playing it.

it’s very strange that most of the other healers were barely touched at all in comparison.

MW and rdruid play exactly the same who only had 1 or so spells cut vs 8 on my pvp hpriest. they even gave back moonkin and the ability to channel SM while moving too. all they did to priest was take things away while adding nothing in return. so lame.

case in point: 46 spells/passives on rdruid, 44 on mw, and then hpriest with 30.

they gutted hpriest so hard it’s insane.

Sham lost 8 things
Holy lost 9 things
Rdruid lost 8 things
Hpal lost 8 things

Pres and mw lost less things because they had less abilities and less maintenance spells. Holy priest had one of the highest ability counts while having no stance bar, a very simple core mechanic, and having multiple maintenance spells that weren’t adding lots of gameplay value.

Holy and disc got a completely reworked hero talent.

For the most part Holy lost vestigal limbs and had trap abilities either baked in as passives or chopped. This is good.

There are two major vectors of complaint for what Holy Priest has lost. Well…three, maybe.

  1. Shadow Word Pain. I’ve written enough about it elsewhere. Don’t know what they were thinking. Indefensible chop. Murdered the spec for solo play.

  2. Determinative mana regen. Lots has been written about Symbol and its jank, and Shadowfiend wasn’t exactly a high impact or on-theme button for a Holy Priest, but Priest in general has god awful mana problems in Midnight and the lack of any mana regen tool is stark. This is adding to the already painful utility gulf that haunts the class.

  3. Core rotation is so slimmed down as to feel regressive. It’s not optimal, but you CAN trim an Oracle Holy Priest down to functionally three buttons. That’s…not good. I’m all for pruning and streamlining but there’s a limit. Further to that problem, with so much baked into Echo, Renew, Ripple and Mending, the actual three buttons you DO press don’t even feel that great to press.

Quite honestly, Priest badly needs a rework from the bottom up…at least the Holy side of the class identity. Shadow already gets 2-3 reworks per expansion.

Yeah, so far it seems most priest players don’t like the feel of holy at the moment :person_shrugging:

No it doesn’t seem that way. Blizzard tried to add crusader strike back to holy paladin and there was enough outrage and arguments that the change was reverted. Blizzard not even mentioning holy priest reveals the actual truth - not enough priest players actually care and those that do are a vocal minority.

:face_with_raised_eyebrow: Yes, it does seem that way, lmao
You have masses of holy priest players raging on:

  • The forums
  • Discord
  • in WoW trade-chat
  • Reddit
  • Facebook
  • Tumblr
  • Youtube

along with the audiences agreeing in such comments-sections and via the ‘likes’ of those – and far more, just about every other public outlet that players can use to express themselves.

The facts & sources of the general public consensus expressed are quite literally against you.
There’s disgusting amounts of overwhelming evidence to indicate such is more than likely the majority. lol

Anyway, I’m sick of wasting my time with your constant ad ignorantiams, false claims, fallacy-fallacies and dishonest arguments, so I’m going to take many others advice — and just mute you, as opposed to the threads themselves  Shorel’aran :waving_hand:

Conveniently skirting around the actual argument while providing 0 actual data to back up your claim.

Probably your best course of action given I’m not going to stop calling out your fallacious argument.
