Who puts complete faith in tier lists? I know from my own experience healing thousands of dungeons on an army of priests and all healers–and since vanilla, that tier lists inform people, first. Second, that, if you don’t care, you make the best of it. Third, that when making the best of it, you are still making the best of it. Ha ha.
Haha, don’t worry, this isn’t WoD - if bubbles are catastrophically busted it’ll become apparent right away and they’ll nuke it from orbit.
Only in M+.
Disc is fine in the raid.
Oracle disc ignoring pet and shadow playstyle and prioritizing big shields / ulti P spam and mastery is broken. You do less dam than voidweaver but the healing is insane
I mean there’s a difference between being ranked “last” and being “dead”…
For M+ I agree that Disc should be ranked as the less desirable healer due to lack of interrupt/stops and poor dispel profile for the season… In terms of troughput it’s mostly single target what is an issue, and I guess that you really need to know how to play around burst windows and the high and lows of the spec…
Context is important though, because as critical as I’ve been on Disc issues in M+, the healing side is still waay better than past times where atonement didn’t had different scaling for dungeons and raids… For example Dragonflight S1 was worse, but even then it was still “viable” outside of the very top levels, I remember I didn’t had much issues getting KSH relatively early in the season (I think it was week 3).
Now, all of that said… I don’t think we currently have any content where we can really test things properly, Heroic dungeons are a total faceroll at the moment… I think they said current Heroics should feel like past M0 dungeons, they don’t, M0 used to be somewhat challenging at the very begining of a new expansion, you’d outscale them quickly once the season actually started but at least at the very start you would at least do the fights and do the basic mehcanics or you would for sure die, this is not the case now where bosses just fall over before you can even get to see the mechanics.
Nah only if people start running it.
Bubble build was amazing later half of df s1. I was having the time of my life. Glad I get to relive it again now
It definitely isn’t, lets stop with the doom posting and all that, kinda ridiculous. It needs a small buff to atonement and probably some ST heals like defensive penance and PW:S in pve, thats really it. They can tune atonement in dungeons very easily with sins of the many, thats what it is for.
Disc is one of the best healers in pvp, so it is doing very well there. In pve again just needs some minor buffs, the playstyle itself is completely fine at least.
Also could use one of the talents in the bottom of the tree that we typically take getting reduced to a 1 pointer so we have more flexibility, that definitely should happen.
11.0.5 (or 11.0.7) is going to be on the PTR soon so we just need to cross our fingers and hope they have some actual Priest overhauls there.
I don’t know, benign neglect might be preferable given how badly DF treated priest (until the last patch).
Dont worry priest will get balanced out eventually like the other classes
i cant speak for pve but in bgs im having a super fun time playing disc with my pumper buddies
Agree. Oracle Disc is doing work for me. I just hate how the entire hero spec plays, but kinda ‘forced’ into it, since ain’t no one doing a PVE dps rotation in PVP, and only getting maybe one void blast per cooldown doesn’t feel (or play) good, imo.
They could have just given us 1-2 more rows in the General/Priest tree, but they wanted to go with “hero talents” in order to have a new expansion selling point.
I just want to know what the long term plan is for hero talents.
Yeah, will be curious if they add new nodes each expansion, and if it will be ten more or just five, etc.
The biggest danger I can see in them is if they give any active abilities. Specifically, if they give an interrupt or movement/displacement ability, but only to one hero spec.
Well, they went with benign neglect on healer changes for now, so that’s good.
They’re definitely not going to keep expanding hero talents right?
It feels very much like a Legion-style borrowed power system like we saw in Argus, although I could see them trying to repackage the top/bottomline powers (watered down a bit) as a new talent in some trees. Sort of like they did with some of the Shadowlands borrowed powers.
They very well might be expanding on hero talents, they said its a continuing feature so who knows but its well liked overall they just needed to go a bit more crazy with visuals and probably adjust a few trees but people like it a lot it seems.
I’m sure they like the idea and theme of hero talents and probably will keep the concept throughout the 3-part saga, I just doubt they’re going to keep tacking row after row on to the point where it becomes a third class tree.
They could let it grow in TWW and reset some new “hero talent” system for part 2, e.g. and label it a continuing feature. It seems they finally get that borrowed power isn’t bad so long as it’s more flavor and theming than entirely new gameplay and doesn’t require a tedious grind to acquire or reset.
No i dont think they would add anything to current hero trees outside of reworking ones that maybe arent working so well and of course adding visuals which they already said they will be looking at.
What I do think they will do is actually add new hero trees in the future, can only really be a positive because it gives people more options and more potential fantasy they identify their character with.
