So… I’m going to re-roll to priest for SL and I’m wondering what covenant you guys are choosing based on covenant/class specific abilities and aesthetics.

Aesthetics surely kyrian if your main focus is healing. If your main focus is shadow aesthetics wise probably venthyr. I’m probably going to go with Kyrian just for the aesthetics, I HOPE that its going to be such a mess at the beginning thats there no real point in choosing based off abilities cause they’ll completely re-balance them shortly after. Especially the venthyr teleport, Surely that cant remain as is.
I will be maining Shadow Priest by the way.

I’m going necrolord because unholy nova looks good for Disc and decent for Shadow.

Venthyr or Night Fae, I only play Shadow and these two seem to have the most interesting abilities and matching aesthetics.
Venthyr has the whole Vampire styled thing, and I think Mind Games is a very Shadow skill. But I also really enjoy the whole Night Fae aesthetic, and from what I’ve seen their armor and skills seem really interesting and fun.

Glad I’m not the only one who thinks this. The Night Fae spell effects are beautiful, and when paired up with Shadowform it actually looks pretty nice. That’s pretty much the only positive thing I have to say about covenants for priests though.

Agreed. I’d like to see the cloth sets and other aesthetic bonuses, but yea the Covenants don’t seem to be as promising for either role as they do for some other classes.

Anything but Venthyr for abilities, Mindgames is pretty garbage even if the numbers weren’t so. I believe I read that the teleport will not be as effective in M+ runs either, to avoid Venthyr-gating. Kyrian, Necro, and Night Fae will all be relatively strong abilities based off how they work now. Night Fae best for M+, Necro or Kyrian for raiding. Mindgames barely redirects any damage and is dispellable in pvp, kinda worthless at this time.
Aesthetic-wise, Kyrian or Night Fae depending on your cup of tea as a healing priest and Venthyr for Shadow Priests. Lore wise, priests can fit into any of these three but less so the Necrolords from what I’ve read. Venthyr is literally vampires and many shadow priest abilities have vamp in their name so that covenant was basically made for them.

Kinda agree. Why would anyone swap from DH to shadow.
Although also on topic. I really like night fae. But for a reason that most don’t mention and that is the ghost wolf movement ability thing. Which gives priest mobility that it really lacks outside of body soul. That is limited by a debuff.
Probably because he wants to, but yeah night fae looks really nice.
Do yourself a favor and delete your priest before you bother playing it in shadowlands.

Night Fae, they check nearly every mark (even the RP) except the covenant abilty.
It could have some use with a Holy priest but in shadow?

Vampire is the best theme for Shadow
I like Venthyr and Kyrian. My choice is actually just coming from the back pieces we get and how trash the abilities end up being.
Kyrian has a purple and black variant for the angelic wing transmog you get and venthyr has a back of floating red blades. Not sure which I want to go for right now. Kyrian is kind of okay for shadow in M+ although not for raid and mind games is just bad right now.
I love angelic/heavenly themes whether they are dark or light so I will likely just go Kyrian for my priest and Venthyr for my monk.
I went Venthry on my Shadow Priest. It seems a lot other other shadow Priest are in Venthyr also.
