Prevent Mage portals in LFR please

I get it, it was funny the first time… maybe even the first dozen times years ago but portal roulette is no longer funny in LFR.

All it does is turn 10 minute runs into 20 minute runs. And it’s not like a dungeon run where you use it to get back to the main town, you just leave instance and you’re right back where you were before it started.

And before anyone guess NO I did not fall for it… I was just sitting there waiting to summon the people who couldn’t figure out how to get back in.

Thanks for the idea.

Good to have a portal announcer weak aura or addon so people know which mage to kick out

Pfff. If people are that annoyed and must install an addon to track who created those portals, they have something really REALLY pokey stuck up somewhere.

And I’ll take my kick with no regrets and a ROFL.

I’m confused. Why are people taking portals inside of a raid?

The same reason why some people want us to be Druids.

Jump inside this portal. It’s safe, trust me.

I’m a lot more okay with it at the end of content when you aren’t delaying the group, but even then I really don’t get it. I could see doing it to friends since it’s normal to rip on and tease each other…and you get to see their reaction…but doing it to strangers has no appeal to me and just seems obnoxious…especially if it’s before the content has been cleared.

Maybe it was a reaction to mistrusting mages, but I never take their portals in any difficulty.

In LFR, I always just exit with the interface.

It’s not like a Warlock portal, where clicking it can actually be helpful.

Two reasons, one they see a portal pop up and are like oh that must be important… those people are new to LFR or group content in general.

The second reason is mages cast it right on top of a healthstone well for example or a feast

It’s not like LFR has a teleport back to dungeon interface option or anything.

it does but it can be a bit odd, for example if you use the eye icon to leave the dungeon you can teleport back in. But if you port out I don’t think it works the same way. Hence we end up with Lock portals

This…

Why does anyone need a Mage portal in LFR?!

I’ve seen plenty, but always figured the Mage just wanted to go to a capital instead of where they entered they instance from.

I should have stated in the OP that it wasn’t me that fell for it… oh wait I did.

Regardless we waited for like 5 people to get back to us ended up making a lock portal to summon them actually.

It’s still funny.

Then people shouldn’t be dumb enough to get the healthstone or food.

I’d definitely kick the Mage for being a troll. But c’mon… this can’t be some major epidemic. And let’s stop treating new players as if they’re complete imbeciles. They didn’t make it all the way to LFR runs with no knowledge of what a portal is.

I agree it’s on the player too for clicking without looking, I just think both things are true. People should be more careful before clicking but Portals provide no real benefit being placed randomly in LFR so just prevent them.

They’ve done this with plenty of things like toys before, or prevented certain spells from being cast in BG for example so I we know they could code it.
