Most other MMO’s have veteran rewards. Blizzard refuses to acknowledge its veteran players. Most other MMO’s would bend over backwards to have paying subs for 15 years.
But then again there’s no soul left in this game anymore. It’s just a graph of “how long can we keep someone playing?” and tightening those screws. That’s all they care about is that time played metric instead of fun.

They saw a steal of a deal that they didn’t get… and it’s hurting them in all sorts of ways
I’ve not seen this level of entitlement in a long time.

Not outrage. People are addicted to free stuff. Well, some people feel entitled to all the free stuff even if they didn’t qualify.
Yeah agree 100% subs must be pretty bad, I don’t need to tell you that cause this game is void of players day and night, desperate measures for desperate times Blizzard are in trouble.
Doesn’t bug me, but I’m prob pushing 40+ characters over 100.
You clearly didn’t listen to/read a transcript of today’s Q2 earnings conference call. No Doom & Gloom, no omens of future failure. Here’s a snippet:
“And then World of Warcraft subscriber numbers have increased since mid-May, following the release dated announcement and beta for Classic and the Rise of Azshara content update in late June. The World of Warcraft team is focused on delivering substantial incremental content in non-expansion years has resonated with both current and lapsed players. The community excitement around Classic continues to build ahead of its August 27 release. Blizzard will be supporting release with a major awareness campaign for the large community of players, who have been a part of World of Warcraft, over the last 15 years.”
Well I’m not going to keep paying for another 3 months on the off-hand chance that Blizzard might actually give a crap.

There’s enough salt in here to season 30-50 feral hogs.

it’s not gonna stop until they’re floating in brine.
I’m sure you meant 30-50 Tauren.
Clearly they were targeting a narrow demographic they had decided were most likely to take advantage of the offer and resub.
Let’s be real here. They’re successful because everyone used to need cable or a satellite dish, if you wanted to watch TV, and the big companies gobbled all the small companies and carved out little territories across the country.
Anyway, I don’t think what Blizzard did was scummy or underhanded. They’re trying to win back players they’ve lost. Companies around the world do this type of promotion all the time. For obvious reasons, they didn’t think they needed to lure the rest of us back to a game we were already playing.
Were they supposed to predict when you were going to resub?
How do they not care? Subs had access to free mounts, will have Pathfinder completed, AR unlocked, etc. Things inactive players won’t have.
This is a marekting tool to get previous players back into the game. It’s a pretty common and logical tactic to get them back in for Classic and for the anniversary.

If you hadn’t gotten a boost, even after waiting a couple of days from when you heard about this promotion, and then subbed up again, I think you’d be complaining about that too.
Not every single unsubbed account has been offered this boost, your entire argument is predicated on the probability that you would have been offered the boost if you had waited, and there’s no way to tell one way or another if that was going to happen for you.

So can anyone pls tell is it everyone eligible for the boost? Or there are some restrictions?
Without an official announcement, we can’t be sure. Not every inactive account received feedback surveys. Pretty sure all inactive accounts receive notifications when Blizzard offers their “free weekend” access promotions. There doesn’t seem to be consistency, so I wouldn’t bother trying to guess unless they say something official.
How can a 15 yo game organize an event like a newbie. I don’t care about if I in the end get a boost or not, I just want an official confirmation so players don’t need to make unnecessary blind guess. So lame!

I wish people would stop being mean to each other and think of the altruism to be had from the boosts!
If not for you, for someone else that you care about!

Pretty sure we’re getting death wing for free.
I’d rather they have a fund to revamp the old world and make it less of a chore to level. It just takes some vision to see how the 1-120 slog is hurting the game for a lot of people including the publisher.
If it means having another team to chomp up legacy content, to find what’s worth keeping and what to toss, replacing very old assets with newer assets all seems very expensive and time consuming so I don’t think it’s possible with the teams working on new content. The game needs to be trimmed down 1-120 and that also means consolidating a lot of levels, quests, story arcs and power gains.
So a legacy team could pick up where an expansion ends and consolidate it back into the “legacy” fold. Meaning once it goes “legacy” it’s a consolidated version of what it was during its release phase.
If they did this the legacy problem would be far less of an issue. A team focused on a consolidated experience could decide exactly how to pace it and make it actually fun to level again. Their directive would be in leveling a character, much less how it plays at max level.
