I know what you meant. It’s what I meant too. And yes, they are trying to court new people in the WoW universe. Why do you think they brought in a bunch of Streamers? A lot of them don’t even play much WoW.
I give them credit because they’ve managed to astroturf engagement in something that everyone hates to the point that it basically can’t flop.
I mean they would struggle to become more predatory after this but credit where it is due.
How about you fix the stupid game instead of creating a mini game then pushing it like hell.
This is the problem with the logic behind this content if it was designed to attract new players or returning players. You’re building a BR game, which is a game mode that is in the death throws of it’s flavor in the mainstream and all the other BR games out there are much better than this.
And it’s a BR game mode, it’s not wow, so you’ve lost in attracting returning players. So who was it for? Besides “creators”. Their followers? So, cool, all the stream daddies get their kids to come over and play Blunderstorm for a month, what did you lose in the process? What did you tangibly gain alienating your core audience.
And the blizzard internet defenders coming out in force with the “it’s optional content, just don’t play it” nonsense. They miss the point, resources were spent creating something existing customers did not want with a product that needed improvements for the sake of existing customers.
It’s the lack of respect, the slap in the face to your existing player base. Expecting us to continue to support you when you completely and totally ignored us, all the while telling us you’re listening when it could not have been more objectively clear how much you are, in fact, ignoring us.
The whole thing is insulting. But hey, glad it was “a bit o’ fun”!
Good grief that’s dark and hilarious at the same time.
I’m more salty about some of the SoD devs going to work on boring Cata Classic instead of balancing the obvious problems in SoD.
You know, I will take this moment to apologize to you and every other SoD player I know, I am sorry. Ever since the SoD announcement, I have insisted that SoD is not WoW. To the point where I have admittedly mocked the notion of playing it. I was wrong. This Blunderstorm is not WoW.

Is this saying you will come play SoD with me?
I totally get what you’re saying. But they designed this so that anyone who wants to play this BR has to download the retail client. These are people that wouldn’t have otherwise ever installed the game. I imagine there will be -some- trickling of ‘well, now I have this game, maybe I should try it out’. I think it’s sort of clever from a business perspective, but I can totally understand how it seems slimy, too.
No because M+ is actually wow content unlike blunderstorm.
If I had to choose to play Blunderstorm or SoD…sign me up for SoD.
Oh wow…maybe that was their point. Maybe they wanted to create a game mode so revolting that it would drive more players to SoD and classic?
That’s diabolically evil and remarkably intelligent at the same time. So, no way it was possible to be their intention.
Apology accepted.
I’m a shameless capitalist so I accept and encourage the overlapping definitions of “clever” and “slimy” in practice.
I am a defender of liberty and managed democracy.
I’ll see you in Helldivers!
I, too, love beneficial euphemisms!
Imagine having a plethora of other BRs to copy from and still putting out a halfassed BR
I don’t exaggerate when I say that my 8 year old has made Roblox obbies that I had more fun playing.
I can think of at least 10 things the game could have benefited from more than this. I mean they BROKE something in outlands with this patch…
