Finally someone who actually knows what’s up!
The stuff on the background downloader is mainly expansion content stuff. Like music, zones, and models. We’ll still have 6-8 hour maintenance for the patch itself.
Been there done that, tried a Warrior but no luck, hardest class for me, I was actually thinking of making a Warlock because its my main and somehow I’m used to it, but yeah I think its a chance.
Your understanding from what ?
The client would need to be forward compatible, which it is not.
Are you guys really new to WoW that you don’t realise the prepatch always starts downloading weeks in advance ?
BfA patch 8.0, download on the 27th of June (Patch on july 17th):
Legion patch 7.0 download, 6th of july (patch on the 19th) :
Warlords patch 6.0.2, download on the 23rd of September (patch on the 14th of october):
Like is this really the first time you guys have experienced a prepatch and expansion launch ?
Has blizzard ever announced a pre-patch date?
I know in previous xpacs we’ve had roughly 6ish weeks of pre-patch before release, but I don’t think they’ve ever actually announced pre-patch dates.
I do feel for you tho, I’m definitely ready for SL and all the changes that are coming with it. Specially the shadow priest changes, I’m so glad they dumped the void priest bs for the most part, I’ve never been a fan.
Lol you ate that hot steaming pile of troll food. How did it taste?
They didn’t for BfA. Legion and Warlords ended up having dates published and the original “end of season” articles updated with said dates, so it’s not really possible to know if they originally had the dates.
Ah okay, thank you!
Is it really trolling when multiple people keep posting these same things over and over again ? Or is it genuinely people not knowing how these things work.
Not necessarily true. We’ve had like 3 four hour downtimes in the past 3 weeks to do most of the background work plus the background download about a week ago. I doubt it’s today, but always possible.
Patch 8.3.7 had some back-end stuff in preparation for Shadowlands.
But I’m still expecting 6 hours of maintenance, at a minimum, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it ends up being 8+ hours long.
Having long maintenance windows before the pre-patch isn’t anything new and we still had 6+ hours of maintenance for the pre-patch itself.
Nah that is the Shadowlands launch.
lol this isn’t a ffxiv patch that takes forever to implement. This is WoW where their patches no matter what they are, are usually done within hours…
Are you referring to the BfA pre-patch?
Raw gold nerf will start during pre-patch?
If yes, please give me at least one more week to run Skyreach please I beg you no pre-patch today please please please
After the launch, they start saying…
BFA wasn’t so bad after all
That isn’t new either, they always have a few longer maintenance windows ahead of a large prepatch release.
Just do so meaningless achievements.
I just completed the Adventurer of “Kul Turis” zones for fun and plan on doing some old fishing achievements.
