Devils advocate (I think this is a bad idea myself but a thought experiment) if mythic had its difficulty lowered to allow more flexible comps would that be a bad thing? The community already accepts a secret mythic plus difficulty to raids that is beating it pre nerf world 1st.
Would they be adverse to it simply starting out at its intended difficulty?
Sporemound is “unique” to Draenor sure, but giant fungus monsters are not.
Deep in the fungal Valleys of Harandar, the fungarian sporecallers have been growing a new threat for The Grudge Pit. Shaded by towering mushrooms, Sporefall is the perfect site to empower their new creation.
Never had a single Spore Giant or Fungal Giant outside of Draenor.
The only things close are the bog lords, which are not remotely the same.
This is a massive retcon, since it was confirmed that Draenor had the conditions to birth the sporemound while azeroth did not, since we had a titan growing that consumed the Life Spirit of the world, while Draenor did not.
Zero reason to ever have anything remotely close to Zangarmarsh on Azeroth, it was proven impossible by the lore written over a decade ago. This is purely retcons by people who can’t keep up with the story they’re hired to write for.
You might say but what about the Deepholm Fungal Giants, those are Rocks that were turned into Fungus by the troggs magics. Since Troggs use corrupt shamanism to malform. Which is the only exception.
Fungal Giants were added in TBC, Bog Beasts were added in Vanilla, along with undead Bog Beasts, such as Loatheb or the ones in Plaguelands and Naxx.
We have NEVER had them on Azeroth.
We have had them in the Elemental Plane of Deepholm, which were confirmed to be Stone Elementals turned to Fungus by Trogg Magic.

Unlike you, I am a lore person.
The Reason we can’t have Spore Giants is the same reason the Elementals have no Elemental Lord of Life or Plane of Life.
They are still ROCK ELEMENTALS, Not Fungal Giants.
Same Model, different thing.
It literally does.
The Fungus was a Alien organism that invaded, used the Spirit of Life to grow unchecked until the titans had to intervene. Since on Azeroth, we have no Spirit of Life, since Azeroth Consumed it to grow, we have no Elemental Lord of Life, no Plane of Life. It is also why the Elemental Lords had unrest and war amongst them.
You had no point, you had a blank assumption that I was refering to Vanilla Lore only instead of the Lore done by decades of the game.
Wowpedia is the Official Lore Bank of Warcraft, since the RPG Manuals are rendered non-canon.
It provides all the information you need, if you read.
I’d chafe a bit at linking to the Fandom wiki instead of https://warcraft.wiki.gg/ since the former is a terrible platform, but that’s just my preference. Anyway…why would it necessarily be a retcon? It certainly seems like if any race would be able to nurture an environment for these creatures, it’d be the fungarians. As an aside, why aren’t fungarians a problem but these creatures would be?
This is stuff you just made up, life energy on either planet doesn’t work like that.
I did have a point. You declaring anything new being a retcon stagnates and over limits everything. No where is it stated that Azreroth could not have fungal giants, made from any source. That’s just a rule you made up and are under the delusion you can enforce.
Wow.wiki.gg is my preference
And again you are missing the point, you may as well be holding up a physical copy of the game and claiming it proves your point.
Just exclaiming Life energy life energy life energy over and over doesn’t answer or prove any the claims you have made.
The Sporemounds were a carnivorous, invasive strain of plant that arose on [Draenor] during its earliest days. They consumed everything in sight, eventually tapping into the [Spirit of Life]
Tell me you didn’t read anything I linked without telling me you didn’t read anything I linked.
That…doesn’t necessarily mean the conditions on Draenor were required, right? After all, if it was something that arrived on Draenor from elsewhere, that already indicates that it can exist or grow elsewhere.
