Was watching the latest Accolonn vid of his spoiler review of shadow’s rising and he has made a few very specific comments that are interesting based on his reading of the book.
“The armistice means eff all, it means nothing”
“These two (Horde and alliance) do not trust each other, they are still spying on one another, the both sides are quite literally waiting for the proverbial pen to drop, both sides are waiting for it, THEY KNOW IT IS COMING”
“They know that at some point the war will pick back up and there’s nothing they can do about it”
Looks like we are heading to the 5th faction war of WoW…again, let’s start guessing what will start it this time and then what big evil will cause us to be at peace again before we once again go back to war xD
Honestly its time for blizzard to really come in terms to end this faction war and not go through the armistice over and over again while things that have happened were simply met with minor retribution for both sides,
Its awful,
We cannot remain in faction hostility stasis for long…and it would be great for either faction to disperse into smaller respectful factions or just unite after all past BS needlessly speaking
Can’t we fight other people than ourselves? Surely the devs are intelligent enough for proper bg’s that don’t require “niener niener I gotchur wiener” spitball contests.
Oh yes because the ONLY war we’ve ever had in the game was Horde vs Alliance. We’ve NEVER fought against other enemies that had nothing to do with the factions like the Burning Legion, Scourge, or old gods and their minions. <-----Sarcasm, by the way.
The faction war is beyond tired, stale and predictable at this point…especially when both sides are constantly forced to team up to fight the next potentially world-ending threat anyway.
I loved the faction conflict in vanilla-cata. It wasn’t always in your face but it also wasn’t hard to find. Some major things happened such as Undercity vs Gilneas, but there were also lots of more minor things. However, it usually complimented the main story.
It was a sort of on going thing. It wasn’t outright war most times but rather continuing skirmishes and and disagreements. It was not unlike org constantly having to deal with quillboar, stormwind fighting off gnolls, or dwarves battling troggs.
A constant issue/threat that has to be kept in check regularly. However, it’s never the major focus or crisis at hand.
That’s what I hope to see from faction war in the future. A supplement to the main story that helps add some extra drama and depth to the main narrative.
Frankly if they’re going to keep beating a dead horse (the faction war), give those of us who don’t give a fig about it (or pvp in general) a neutrality option. Heck disable warmode entirely for my account and let me group and RP with whomever I want and let the people who like pvp and the faction conflict to continue to have at it.
Likely result now that Jaina apparently is back to being the “voice of reason” that tries to stop war, you kill her, you turn Anduin and many in the alliance against the horde and war starts again with nobody to go against it.
← Is my immediate reaction, I mean I feel Blizzard would’ve realized now that basing an entire X-pac around that doesn’t work very well. I mean… look where MoP ended up. BFA being the -er example.
UNLESS, a time skip as has been predicted / theorized, whatever actually happens and we get some interesting new plot points / reasons for said war besides a misunderstanding or some non-sense like that.
