Premades Are Ruining Random BGs

Here’s the truth: Random BGs are a mess. People do not play the maps right - it’s like herding cats. It’s a sandbox mode for players to gear up and test abilities. Not something to be taken seriously like the past - where you could actually get some heated, fun games.

Try your best to use it as a stepping stone to something rated.

Blame the players.

Re-define premades to be a party no more than 3. Having 5 people in a 10-15 man is as dumb as having 20 in an epic.

It has definitely been happening since before TBC.

There was a mod that a raid leader used to use called “stinkyQ” back in the prepatch before TBC launched. I have no idea how long it was around before I heard of it, but he told us that he could get a 40 man raid into Alterac Valley, then proved it. Several times. At first, we thought it was funny, and eventually that mod vanished iirc, but the same method of it’s operation is still very much alive and working today, and has been for at least 18 years.

The problem is definitely worse now, however.

I think that part of the reason for that is that Blizz separated regular BGs and Epic BGs, whereas originally you queued specifically to each BG, and later you just queue for a random overall. Now, you queue for a random reg or a random epic (and both if you wish) as separate queues. Since Epics offer so much more reward, the cheaters are flooding the epics.

I mean before TBC doesn’t count. Of COURSE vanilla had premades lol. It had honour ranking.

I just don’t think it was rampant until later expansions after vanilla/tbc. People who took pvp more seriously had a new game mode and the bg scene largely reflected it until later on.

2 healers can queue for blitz together.
2 groups of 2 healers each can queue sync.
There are only 2 healers per team. Therefore, no matter what the combo is, if they all get into the same match, they can throw the match for either team. This happens regularly.
Those 2 groups queue sync with players being carried. It doesn’t matter what team the carry gets on, he or she will have the two healers that are doing their jobs.

Win trading happens.

Win trading does happen, but mostly at the top and it’s impact on players is a wash.

In that scenario, you could be on the winning side or the losing side. It’s a roll of the dice. You will win some. You will lose some. How is that impacting you? I have played 1,000’s of games and have yet to see a scenario like that play out that doesn’t have a reasonable explanation. I have seen players actively throw, but it’s 100% of the time because they get mad about something.

That’s just an absurd scenario. 4 players to boost… one player? For only one win? Do they have 100s of healers at every MMR range? So these healers actively throwing have to get wins again but even for them… wins aren’t guaranteed. It makes no sense.

Why would you go through so much trouble when there are substantially easier methods?

In the end, players need to focus on their game and what they can improve. I have 6 characters that are 2400+ in Blitz. How is all this win trading not impacting me? Where is it? Honestly it makes no sense. I know why a game is lost. I know why a game is won. Generally it’s pretty easy to grasp that. A lot of games I can call who is going to win just based off the comp.

The incessant focus on things outside of our control and not enough focus on the things we do have control over is frustrating to constantly read. If someone wants 2400 or higher it’s on them.

But 40 man Que synchers are ok? Let me
Get this right 20 man premades in ebgs is not ok but let’s let the Que synchers continue to ruin the Ebg landscape

fitting name for that addon

Agreed, not even worth playing as horde anymore, 2 days, 7 epic bg’s, no wins

Just let the players choose for themselves, give us a no premade button so we only face other solo players in what should be a non sweaty environment. Oh you want to be farmed in gy for 15 mim? Paired against premades enable, you want to spend more time in queue and play a more fair and fun game? Enable the no premade button. Extremely simple solution, can even be implemented before 11.2 if blizz wanted to

The problem is that Blizzard does not have a way to identify queue sync premades.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but even if no one was on a team the PVP is always gona be sweaty because you players do damage intended to kill raid bosses with hundreds of millions of HP to each other. PVP gear should have never “scaled up” in pvp it should stay at the ilevel it is at…

its amazing a dead game like SWTOR figured this out but WOW never could

Here is why I group up with people on my RealID:

  1. Pugs that are rocking 500 item level questing gear
  2. Pugs that are rocking Mythic PvE gear
  3. Pugs that don’t know how to press buttons
  4. Healers that heal one person the whole game and themselves

It’s downright aggravating, and most of us just want to play with competent players.

Do you go in as a group of 2-5 players? Or do you queue sync?

I should have been clear, rarely do I queue EPIC, and think that queue syncing is unfair and ruins a game mode that should be for farming honor.
With that said I do group up with friends (up to 5) for random battlegrounds.

My only issue is that I wish Blizzard would put groups of similar size vs each other. Having a group of 5 in a 10v10 battleground can be quite an advantage if the other team only has a group of 2.

i jus wish pré mades wud get a long

canceled my sub in may and stated ebg queue syncers as the reason why since in my time zone, it was nothing but the same queue sync group every single game.

then yesterday i came back and guess what, it was that same community for 3 games in a row. you simply can’t make this **** up.

wife and I own 3 accounts, and just play randoms in the evening to pass time. This has finally led us to decide to not buy the new expansion. she is waiting for her 6 month subscription to expire, after whichwe will both find new entertainment.
