It is incredibly frustrating. The game is rewarding coordination over casual play and these stacked groups are dominating. I am queuing solo, trying to enjoy some Battlegrounds, but I am just getting rolled and the games are not even close.
This is not just me ranting. Players everywhere are saying the same thing:
“I am going to be brutally honest. I think the matchmaking is completely broken or at least biased towards premade groups… every single random BG since TBC”
“Every match I have queued into has been premades versus randoms. The premades are as sweaty as they come…”
“I have never seen so many premades in random battlegrounds. I am always getting matched against them and it is just a faceroll, not fun for either side.”
“Premades of five or less in EBGs and Random BGs are fine but queue syncing is killing PvP… you end up camped in the graveyard every single game.”
Many players have already quit over this problem:
“What was once a fun casual mode is just not fun anymore… I already canceled my subscription…”
I am honestly playing less and less because of this. It feels like a waste to pay a monthly fee just to get stomped in 2-5 minutes after waiting 5-10 min for a queue by perfectly synced teams. Casual players are being pushed away.
If Blizzard wants to keep people like me subscribed, they need to take action:
• Create separate queues so premade groups only face other premades (or just have them do rated bgs…)
• Stop queue syncing or punish players who abuse it
• Add proper item level brackets so matches feel fair
Battlegrounds are collapsing under the weight of premades. Casual PvP is dying. If this keeps up, I am going to cancel my sub entirely.
Do you feel the same?
Right now, random BGs feel like a waste of time and money for any player who just wants to log in and enjoy some PvP.
(All player quotes were taken directly from these forums and reddit.)
The system is designed todo that, but queue times take priority. With fewer players playing, it likely rarely works.
A fix is long overdue. I don’t know anyone that does epic BGs any longer. Regulars are getting awful now as well. Very unfortunate that we can’t even get a single response.
If Blizzard addressed this, and began a campaign of full account deletion for offenders, followed by randomly executing one of their family members for each offense, the people who are queue syncing premades would just make new accounts and start new families, and keep doing it.
No matter what method is used to punish them, or be an obstacle to their efforts, they will find a way around it and keep doing it. They can’t help themselves. They’re losers who can’t hack a game where they don’t have a tremendous advantage.
I still say that my idea of the system randomly selecting what BG a player goes into and starts a pool of players for each BG instance AFTER they have been assigned to one would break the premades. 5 groups of 5 would get into 5 different BG instances, instead of syncing into the same one as long as there was room for all of them when they queued. As it stands, Blizzard fills the can and launches the instance, one instance at a time. Thus, premades are easily exploiting the system.
But the reality is probably that it’s a low priority ticket for them. Somewhere there is a project manager there that punts the PvP issues down the line, because PvE stuff takes priority.
And even if some intern wants to try it fixing it, it probably still involves couple of people to spend time to review. And maybe there’s like one senior person who knows that code, which is probably some spaghetti code from when they launched BGs the first time, they’re too busy to even look at it. And the manager is like “ah don’t break what works, not worth the risk”. And so on.
And if they bring it up officially, it’ll probably be a pain in the neck to deal with folllout from either decision.
I have always enjoyed pvp with a small group of friends in various games usually in groups of 3-4 max. I don’t understand these robots who want to sit in coms with 15+ people in regs rolling pugs. Its not like any of them are actually friends and you can bet half of them are in comms muted and deafened
I been doing lots of randoms lately. And sometimes you run into a pre-made which is basically a few friends or guildies. Doesn’t mean anything. Chances are there’s a couple buddies in your team in discord. Doesn’t mean anything. It’s not like people are ruining the Que system
Thats great that you do that, the game is designed to be that way. Then how come that PVE has solo play components to it. People are attempting to enjoy something casual and simply cant having due to the oversaturation of premades. Random Bg’s isnt suposed to be just pugs vs premades, its supposed to be random maps and random teams. I que in daily throughout the day and I run into the same 2-3 premades constantly. This isnt a compaint its just the facts of the situation. I play with friends as well and often and we run into the same premades as when I que solo. I think that they need to address this constant issue. No one has any idea of the simplicity or complexity because Blizzard as a company is one of the largest failures at connecting and communicating with their player base especially when it comes to PVP.
At the end of May I cancelled my 2nd sub that I used to PvP when my son was playing CoD. Ended up taking a bit of a break to play the new PoE league, qued my first couple epics since coming back. 2/4 was against premades 1/4 was with a premade on my team. 1/4 was against other pugs as far as I could tell.
Just not really worth the time I don’t feel like anymore to que epics, just do my keys and go play something else in general.
I’ve always held I don’t hate premaders because I can understand wanting to play with people that are trying to win. But its also really freaking boring. There is no resistance, rarely any chance of loss. 1/2 the time its just doing a training target dummy rotation on someone who just stops while on their mount because they know it’s a 5v1 and don’t really care.
Maybe rampage was more chill, but I never noticed an issue until mid-late WoD and even then I’ve still managed to have regular bgs infrequently on retail to this day.
Ay least normal non epics. Epics seem to be more likely premade wars.
My bg experience was TBC was absolutely amazing, very few premades, very wide variety of players, classes, specs, gear load outs, strategies etc.
Wrath more of the above with the exception of random gladiator premades absolutely sweeping.
Cata was the beginning of the bot wave, broken up intermittently by my own “premade” (bored group from durotar) and or other premades of gladiator human female plate classes gy camping when we zone in.
Mop was more bots, better bots, but less premade-y.
Wod was bots, and a mix of premades and regulars. Kinda stale tbh.
Legion ??? Didn’t play.
Bfa… Didn’t really bg too much. Felt fine the few I did. Didn’t notice a lot of bots but did get one or two premades.
Until blizzard does something about the fact you can farm honor for bloodstones to sell for gold the entire bgs grouping in randoms is pretty much screwed.
If you wanna have some fun or most chances at winning you now have to group up for random bgs. Because all the premades moved over to the random bs ques now. Basically back to how it was back in Burning crusade or old wow.
In order to deal with this the entire wow community has to get in the mindset that if you’re going into randoms bgs you need to form a premade and que up otherwise there’s high likelyhood you will be facing premades now.
The 2nd everyone starts premades v premades the better it will be.
its doesnt work so well for Blitz either since they can just queue sync and go pay some booster site for freelo. Ever ask yourself why it ALWAYS declines 3 times? Yeah maybe one dude when to go pee but ALL 3 OF THEM? Blitz is sus the only solid game mode is the arena tbh.
I didn’t believe it either but someone showed me some of the sites. Its like literal online shopping.
input rating required and there is a pricetag next to it. You can’t make this s*** up and the worst part is now these “legitimate business” has ads popping up on my Youtube feed because its a “legitimate business.”
There is no point in queue syncing Blitz as you can’t dictate what team you land on. Beyond that, getting wins in Blitz, even if you’re a very good player is never guaranteed. Actively throwing a game is only going to put you in the hole MMR wise.
The cheating that happens in Blitz is either a pilot, which is often remote, or a carry. Now if someone wants to argue there is a way to guarantee team selection, then have at it, but even that would be noticed. I have played a lot of Blitz and the most questionable thing I have seen outside of the very occasional bots are just high MMR/CR healers playing with low MMR/CR players. I wouldn’t be surprised if they are doing both a ‘carry’ and a pilot at the same time.
This would just kill 5 man premades, they aren’t going to do this. You would have to have the exact number and size of groups to get a game if you do this
You can’t just have 10 players queued in preamdes and a game starts. what if two groups queue up, one of them 4 and one of them 5? that would leave an awkward slot that needs to be filled, so unless solo players are introduced it will be hard to fill it. But if solo players are introduced, then it won’t be it’s own bracket
They just need to force similar sized premades against similar sized premades, fill the rest of the spots with smaller groups and solo players. The solution is never to create more brackets, this game doesn’t have unlimited players to fill everything
Forcing premades to play RBGs makes as much sense as forcing all solo players into blitz. Solo players shouldn’t feel required to play blitz, just likes groups of 5 shouldn’t be forced into RBGs.
They just need to start cross faction queues. Once multiple groups can’t get onto the same team the syncing will die out
More brackets is not a good thing. ilvl in pvp just shouldn’t be a thing. The “progress” should be acheivements, transmogs, rating and, if they were to introduce templates, then you should be able to buy the ability to change your secondary stats on gear.
Being undergeared isn’t fun, having undergeared players on your team isn’t fun. Not sure who actually likes gear in PvP
don’t really care. I started way too late in this game’s life to care and this isn’t any Warcraft 3 I grew up with. If you made me go play the Arathi highlands questchain and told me this was Warcraft I wouldn’t believe you. Probably won’t stick around long term. Its near impossible for new players to find dedicated groups to practice with and the ranked rewards are essentially participation trophs unless you are one of the very small few and even then Blizz is just giving them the same mount every season with different colors. Meanwhile PVE gets the Voidcycle, Skyrazor and a giant Gallywix robot head?
Maybe I will change my main to Pverocks or something and play the pve in this game which is just MMO Diablo
