Then what was the “PUG strat” for Wintergrasp Offense before 9.0.5?
Lol Horde premades are generally fighting Alliance pugs, the same thing you try to strawman Alliance as doing. Horde in general are more organized, more geared, and better led, even without premades.
Your boast is like being a powerlifter in a competition against toddlers. There are few Alliance communities left that run premade bgs… Ruin generally does it to have fun/socialize. Winning is a plus too.
Go to SR and win team fight
Ironic that was strat back in WotLK.
That’s not the strategy I employed.
I found it a lot more effective to have my raid group take a different route around the map, to increase the probability of being able to build without giving the defense team the ability to build.
It allowed me to win WG offense consistently at a time when WG offense had close to a 1% win rate.
Which is why I’ve often sought out to challenge/go against Alliance premades.
Fighting PUGs all the time gets old after a while, so I seek out organized opposition, like CL or Wildroot’s premade, or even Horde PUGs (which, as you said, are often more organized).
(Shoutout to Wildroot for actually leading solid opposition btw.)
Well good for you but that just kind of proves the other thing that 40-man BG’s don’t really take that much of strategy it’s just moving as a zerg. You went left instead of right 🤷.
I get it so many people who lead 40-man pre-maids think it is some massive strategy that is giving them the upper hand when it’s just a zerg movement. I remember saying it to I think his name was shadow when he was leading ashran’s. The guy thought he was being so clever and he was some famous tactician. after they would win a event they would go hide somewhere in shroud waiting for the next event. Like he really thought this was helping them win. Just sitting in a crater waiting for the next event… Then when the event spawned they would rush to the event. I have no idea how he even thought that was a strategy because no matter what they knew where you were going so they don’t need to know where you’re coming from
.
Point is for my years of experience with 40 Man pre-maids most of these people think they are employing some great strategy. But what it looks like you are the general who said let’s take the capital and when the capital falls taking all the credit for your strategy.
This is why I said smaller Bee gees are more fun because you actually have to dictate different groups and have to think of a comp going to that node and how to move people around. That takes an extremely more thought out process and implements more strategy than all 40 people move here…
But again to each their own 40 mans are extremely boring and that’s why it has never stayed popular in communities. You can think they are popular because you can have so many members but if you can’t even fill a full pre-made that’s how unpopular they are. Because even public vent during its height they had three full raids going and within a couple months they were down the one. Majority of the people find it boring
What are pre-maids?
I’ve run with Ruin 3x in the last week. First time ever running with them.
I love PvP. Epic BG’s in particular. When I complemented a group-leader in the 2nd night with Ruin, for steadfastly guarding Hangar in IoC, he said thanks, his “360 hks” helped him learn how. Tempted me too look myself up. (AV junkie who used to spend 16 hours every “honor weekend” in AV, and almost that much time for IoC). Turns out I’m 2nd most HK’s on Hyjal for that, about 585k or so.
I say this, not to brag. I say this, to point out I play WAY too many BG’s, and I will tell you, MOST of them are epic BG’'s.
So to the OP:
Please quit complaining. I can tell you, Ally was 50/50 in BFA in IoC. More than that if I could convince them all to go hangar. Ally was 45/55 ish in AV. More if I could convince them to recap SHB. Or to defend IBGY. Or that SFGY is the antidote to being turtled north of IWB in games where the Horde knows what they are doing.
In Shadowlands…(I have 6 level 60 alts atm, that I try to get Epic wins on, for CP)…Ally is losing a lot more than 50% of the time. More like 70-80% of the time right now.
So…if you’re not smart enough to type “/afk”, and queue for regular BG’s, for the next hour (while “Ruin” destroys an epic BG for an hour) …then let me explain to you, what it’s like to queue for 10 epic BG’s over the course of a day, and still win none of them.
The feedback treadmill Blizzard likes to ignore is that, due to the population disparity between Alliance and Horde, then #1)the Horde’s longer queue times means that the Horde is more coordinated since it’s harder to get into a battle (in general). And also # 2) if you win BG’s more often (on a daily basis) , which the Horde does, due to their longer queue times-resulting in a more coordinated “pug”), then they get CP more often. i.e you get better gear more often/sooner. Which helps you win more often.
As a PvP, BG junkie – particularly, an EPIC BG junkie – I can honestly tell you, I can waste 5-8 hours in Epic BG’s, or more, and get zero wins for Alliance in Shadowlands. So I don’t think the fact that you have a long queue time, and you fail to understand, if you have the bad luck of running into a “Ruin” premade, we should think you suddenly get braindead and forget how to type “/afk”. You know – so you can go and do ANYTHING ELSE IN THE WORLD OF WARCRAFT for an hour. Other than re-queuing for an epic BG.
Your queue time isn’t 5-8 hours is it? You know, the 5-8 hours, which is all of the time I waste, looking for Conquest Points in Epic BGs every day on the Alliance side? I mean, you could still go do regular BG’s, World Quests, Dungeons, World PvP, LFR, help friends in your guild level alts, Torghast runs, or something else I haven’t thought of, right?
Yeah, I thought so.
You’re the reason I unsubbed tonight, and before you try to come at me about how much you lose - I survived all of WoD as Horde and never once shied away from the game due to my enjoyment of pvp. However, I never experienced such absolutely horrendous sportsmanship as I have with Ruin the past few weeks. I’m not exactly sure where in your head you think you have the right to dictate what type of BG I play. I’ll remember to drop you when I find you solo.
You know where to find us. Same time, same channel every night.
Don’t be afraid. We don’t discriminate. All Horde die equally in our eyes.
Sportsmanship in pvp LOL. When did horde become such snowflakes?
Some of us are old-school and actually have a code. I used to kick people out of my premades for doing crap like this when I ran for High Warlord years ago.
Solid pass. None of you will fight solo, my sub is up on the 19th, and I don’t need to be getting frustrated and wasting money trying to avoid egostrokers that get a kick out of burning the only 3 hours I can play. Keep going though, keep driving more and more people out of pvp - that’s what has always worked well in the end right? I have a broken arm trying to heal and I refuse to deal with this crap for the next 8 weeks the same time I can only play.
Epic BG’s aren’t about solo. You want solo stay in arena.
Arenas aren’t about solo either. Duels are about solo, and the dueler’s guild fell apart in BFA. I try to get solo kicks in warmode but none of you turn it on, so I hunt players in epics. Either way, your strawman argument vs my strawman argument mean nothing in relation to what you guys do
TBF blizz did everything they could to kill it before it even started. you had to be in warmode and then travel to the BfA pvp spot to ask a guard to queue. most duelers have sat in front of org or sw for 15 years. blizz put it out of the way because they didn’t really want it to succeed.
I know, it was a total shame how it was implemented and left to rot.
See you can’t do that if you are unsubbed. A lot of us killed Ruin members out in the world non stop ( regardless of ilevel ) in BFA due to their shenanigans in Naz. These are rivalries which make WoW fun .
Good for you. Doesn’t make what us or anyone doing the same wrong for it. Just pure pvp. If you want to be treated fairly, tell your faction-mates to stop logging onto level 1s and rage whispering us, and stop trolling in our stream.
Pure pvp is not artificially extending a battleground and clogging up the Epic BG queue on a nightly basis so you can monetize your pugstomp via your stream. That’s schadenfreude, and frequent displays of which is typically indicative of a mental illness. You sure you are okay?
Also - if you stopped abusing game mechanics to artificially extend others suffering for your streaming profiteering, maybe you would stop getting rage whispers. Not once when I was in a pugstomp premade AV when I had 30 to queue with (back when you could) did I ever get rage whispers. Then again, we didn’t just sit there and farm people to make them miserable on purpose either.
