More progress on Gilneas being made, Goldrinn moving into a den within its borders, worgen getting optional tails and some love, elves not getting more pointless items they don’t need yet again.
to fit with the theme, BFA timewalking
Customisable player ships.
As a test bench for player housing!
I’m predicting massive disappointment across the board and hoping I’m wrong.
Mobs or invasions spawning on the hour with low drop rate Cosmetics/Pets/Mounts.
Releases buggy, drops too rare - we receive the standard “we hear you” post and drops and spawns are buffed to what they should’ve been in the first place.
Skull would be iconic choice for the death of the game
Lookit this guy thinking worgen are gonna get something. ![]()
I think after the bungled hearthstone/diablo fomo events, people are just: “Oh look. Another fomo event but pirates! … yawn.”
I won’t disagree there, but it’s still not wrong to expect more than a single temporary event from a whole patch.
Like I said, maybe that’s all we get, but like… that’d be pretty frickin bad. I wasn’t around for the WoD patch that turned out to be defined by selfie mode, but I think that’s the low standard of “are you effing kidding me” for a patch. This might be that bad if all it is is the pirate patch. I hope they know that. I assume they know that. Maybe I’m wrong.
I don’t know when the current attitude towards lesser patches set in… But I don’t get it. It’s just a .6 patch, and it’s not even season 4. When did we start to expect so much in small interim patches?
I left the game for a decade, and this is an honest question.
Why?
I mean, there’s the 10.2.7 patch, which is going to be pretty much the same content and same timing as the other .7 patches in the last couple of years. This is just a bonus. Maybe it’s not a very big bonus and maybe it’s not as great as they hyped it up to be but the alternative is that you would get nothing.
I could say “when the DF roadmap started showing minor patches having multiple features causing our expectations to rise” and make it seem like our standards have dramatically changed, but really I think most of the community has always been hoping for a faster patch cadence with more content, especially in the second half of expansions and in the past more people were just quietly drifting away when they didn’t get it.
Clearly the Jailer will burst from the ground screaming “NO TREE IS TALLER THAN MEEEEEE!!” And he will grab the Sargies sword and attack the tree.
But then a big hand will be like “no” and smack the Jailer back to the manufacturer he came from, dropping the sword.
Then we have to fight a giant azerite monster by finding azerite to empower our old artifacts into a new color and kill it.
Just in time for the blood sail admiral to reveal himself as the WoW multiverse ultimate antagonist. Then he will take sylvanas, she was there too, and run to the planets core. Waiting for us to find him in last titan.
Or it will just be a pirate event. Either or.
I really do not expect anything other than a limited-time event with no other features released.
I’m pretty sure we already figured out what it meant:

They’ve already said it’s just going to be another FOMO event. Are there really still people, who are swallowing copium? Oof…
A short quest line that will unlock the Sailor’s Hornpipe dance for your characters.
Yes, I’ve invested a lot of KP into my copium skill.
Whatever it is will be made obsolete within 2 weeks, like Zaralek Caverns. They will then take a month to come up with the next limited-time FOMO event.
The real question is, is the “raid ready boost” they are still advertising going to be automagically increased in ilvl when the patch drops, so it remains raid-ready?
If, it has to be paladins via Tyrs guard.
OMG I’d be so tempted to roll orc. Oh boy
Prob name some derivative of shrek
